WINDOWS IN YOUR DREAMS
Our DreamingWorld members give their thoughts on windows in your dreams :-)
Looking out a window: your view of or feelings about what you perceive in your environment or life; looking for a way out of a situation.

Looking into a window: What you feel or see in regard to someone else if you see another person; what you are aware of when looking at or giving awareness to yourself.

Climbing out of a window: possibly your way of avoiding difficult feelings.

Climbing into a window: Looking within oneself or seeing what makes someone else "tick".

Opening a Window: Letting others see your feelings or opinions.

No windows: not seeing what is going on around you.

Dirty Window: may say you're not seeing something clearly.
Face at a Window: may signify that you fear criticism for some past action.

The window is a rich dream symbol. Its accurate interpretation can lead to awareness and an ability to better understand your outlook on life. If you are looking through the window, pay close attention at what you are looking at. Is it a beautiful landscape or a scene dealing with an experience or a situation from your past?

Looking through a window and seeing a beautiful landscape may represent your desire for greater satisfaction and more peace in your life. If you are seeing something familiar, you may be able to perceive the situation in a new way and gain some insight.

Some say that a window may represent a time frame, a closed window -- a fear that you are unable to effectively communicate, and an opened window may be symbolic of a desire for a new life. Windows in our houses allow us to see the world of the outside, the windows in our dreams may encourage us to better see the world within ourselves, as well as the world outside of ourselves.

Keep on dreaming!

The following is from The Dreamer's Dictionary by Lady Stearn Robinson and Tom Corbett:

WINDOW. The meaning varies according to the type of window and the details of the dream action, but as a general guide:
Broken Windows: Forecast a change in residence.
Bay Windows: Predict an increase in social activity.
Dormer Windows: Are a sign of improving conditions.
To Open a window: indicates easy success;
To Close a window: suggests a lucky escape from a present danger.
To jump or climb out a window: predicts that whatever your troubles are you will find an unexpected way to overcome them.
To climb IN a window: A new opportunity.

This is from
Mary Summer Rain's Guide to Dream Symbols by Mary Summer Rain and Alex Greystone.

Window: portrays the quality and quantity of personal perception.
Window Box: suggests personal attention given to accurate perception.
Window-dressing: applies to "dressed" perceptions; perceptions that one alters according to individual attitudes or qualities.
Window Ledge: may indicate a precarious viewpoint or it may refer to a perception "supported" by strengthening elements.
Window Pane: comes to reveal the accuracy of one's personal perception.
Window Shade: warns of a "shaded" perspective.
Window Shopping: implies a search for ideas.
Window Washer: characterises someone capable of clarifying another's perspective on an issue.
Bay Window: denotes a "greater view" or perspective might be needed.

MY THOUGHTS:

Windows to me show you how you are perceiving things currently. If it is stormy outside then perhaps your current feelings on an issue have been clouded and emotional. If it's bright and sunny then you have a clear and focused view on your situation.
If a window is open I see it as opportunity and good energies coming to you. "Fresh ideas and perspective".
Closed Windows could be that you are "shutting out" opportunity.
Closed Curtains might mean that you are trying not to see something but you know it's still there.
Small windows can mean a need for privacy or shutting out the world.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows mean that you are "open" to the world and "there".
Broken windows could mean a "shattered" ideal.
Dirty windows an unclear idea or perspective.
To climb out a window - escape; or maybe a need to be non-conforming.
Climb in a window - A new way into a situation; new opportunity;
To break windows: You are forcibly changes your views on a situation.

Love and light

Window: If you can't get in through the door, there is always a window. Find a way under, around, or through the problem etc. Also insights, seeing things from a different point of view (if you are looking through a window)

Think you've nearly said it all! So as a bit of fun I will put in the divinitory meanings:

"To dream you see the windows at the front of the house destroyed by fire signifies bad news about brothers, at the back, about sisters. To dream of looking out of a window means that you will shortly travel through many countries and get acquainted with many different people."

On second thoughts, go and read Sheree's versions - they are much more sensible! :-)

Sweet Dreams!
Peregrine.
