A STAMP FROM THE AUSTRALIAN ANTARCTIC TERRITORY

The Australian Antarctic Territory includes Wilkes Land and Victoria Land on the Antarctic continent. It issues it's own stamps (about one set a year), but these issues are valid for postal use on mainland Australia as well. This $1.05 stamp from 1997 was sent from the Southern Suburbs Mail Center in Turrella, New South Wales on January 29th, 1999. It depicts two sea ice researchers.
