Summer Camp Staff, Summer 1992

During the course of the summer staff issues such as retention, several had left, and safty and professional behavior, became such an issue I made a few suggestions to my supperior and asked and obtained permission to hold staff meetings during the afternoon.  I scheduled coverage for the cabins and shift so every staff could attend.  Notes were taken and proposals made.  Many of the proposals were implemented including, for those that wanted to prayer time in the morning, and signing children out at pick-up--it had been policy to sign children in but not out, I pointed out that many children are abducted not by strangers but people they know.

Guinan Residence Hall, Front Desk Coordinator, 1990-1992

Many staff in the past had been known to fall asleep.  A simple solution I created was a doodle book.  It became social focus for the entire dorm and kept the staff awake and alert.  It also increased the social life of the community as a whole as many would stop by the desk and visit and view the book.  I also created a community information system and book for the front.

Ran the membership welcome desk.  Was really nice often received notice from my boss that people had called in and complimented me on care and concern I had shown them.  I also reported one of my co-workers for putting hours not worked on time sheet; as result when latter confirmed he was relieved of duty.
