Hello and welcome to a new millennium, century, decade, and year.
Don't give me any of that shit about the 21st century starting in 2001 and not 2000. Take a look at any number line and what do you see? This:
-2, -1, 0, 1, 2
not this:
-2, -1, 1, 2
Further more, when you are born you are 0 years old, so was Jesus, thus the new millennium starts at 2000 since the Xtian calendar supposedly starts at the time of the birth of "Christ" and follows his age.
Unless you believe those that say 0 AD was actually when Jesus was about 15 or 20 or something. But then that throws out both of our arguments. So ignore that.
I actually think that this whole concept of the new millennium starting in 2001 is just the idea of some losers that are trying to look cool to the girls (or guys) but ending up just looking like geeks.
After all, you never hear girls trying to argue that 2001 is the true start of the millennium, just the basically unattractive guys. They're always so anal about it too. Never giving up till you admit that they're right.
I don't want the new millennium to start at 2001 though. That's just one digit changing. That happens every year. That's boring.
But who can remember when all four digits changed. Nobody. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that no one can trace their family tree back to the last time all four digits changed. And the next time it changes, none of our ancestors will be able to trace their family trees back to us. That's exciting. Not this wimpy single digit shit that happens every year.
