Joseph (Ejercito) Estrada is the 9th President of the Republic of the Philippines. Just recently, he was sworn in as president in Barasoin Church in Malolos, Bulacan. He was once a well-known actor during his early 20's.He also had a lot of experience in being a government official. He has been San Juan mayor, a senator, and the vice-president. Maybe these achievements will help him as he faces the problems now as president. He has won the mass's confidence with the motto "Erap para sa mahirap". President Estrada took the seat when the country was crippled with economic problems. He, however, took it calmly and this crisis is currently starting to improve (very) slowly. President Estrada was also faced another great challenge just recently. Philippine Airlines (PAL), the flag carrier of our country, was on a strike and was on the verge of shutting down. Amidst all the prayers, Estrada went and talked to the leaders of PALEA and lo and behold! Suddenly, PAL was opening again! At least this prevented a lot of people from losing jobs. President Erap Estrada has still 5 years and more or less 7 months to show what good the Estrada administration could do… It is too early to judge for now.
