Stuart Little: Lesson 3

Area: Drama Purpose: Students will: -Create a list of characters and a script for one chapter of Stuart Little -Create costumes, masks, or puppets for each character -Perform their skit at the end of the unit Rationale: By "becoming" the character, students will better understand the emotions and actions of each character. Materials: -copies of Stuart Little for each group -materials for costumes, masks, or puppets -paper, pens Content: names, personalities of characters, what the characters look like Activities: 1. Each group will pick one of 15 chapters to present 2. Group will submit list of characters and a script 3. Group will make puppets, costumes or masks for each character 4. Group will perform their chapter at the end of the unit Management: Students will work in assigned groups of 5 or 6 Assessment: Submission of list of characters and script. Scripts will be checked for spelling and that everyone in the group is included. Production of puppets, costumes, or masks Successful performance
