Going after Dr. Tibor Mckray

The background: Dr. Tibor Mackray was a creepy pathologist Collin was already investigating in connection with mutant babies at the maternity ward. Saturday night, Vicki, who works at the hospital, came to the farmhouse in a state of terror having seen Tibor drop a nurse with a touch, apparently killing her, and telling Vicki "I'll see you later" when she fled. Sepdet, Piotr, and Coda were at the farmhouse to receive Vicki's terrified report and send her to Katrikki's house for safety; then they went after Tibor (the next night, mostly due to OOC reasons, ICly so that we could get Collin and inform the Fangs that their kinfolk Theo was in the hospital where a very dangerous doctor was working).

Sepdet clears her throat. ~We have two goals: find out what we can about the bad goings-on at the hospital, and destroy this Makray person if he's an agent of the Wyrm. I'll do Questing Stone on him to see if he's still at the hospital. I don't want to meet him there; too many possible witnesses. We then go to his house and search it, try to find out all we can about him. Post scouts to watch for his arrival. Surround him when he gets home. Question him if possible to determine what he knows, and kill him if he's Wyrm.~
"Pretty much sounds like the plan I had, Sepdet." Collin grins at her a little, then runs a hand through his hair. "Just that the time table got screwed up thanks to the incident. If he's at the hospital, chances are he's wyrm. I'll need to take a liberal scenting of the area before he arrives."
Sepdet smiles humorlessly. ~Since he dropped a nurse in Vicki's presence, I'm assuming he's not a nice fellow. But our own septmates have occasionally committed what the humans call "murder", and for all I know what Vicki saw was Falling Touch. I don't like making assumptions.~
Coda nods. "Indeed. He may be investigating the babies for the same reason we are, for all we know."
"I doubt that," Collin replies, "but it's within the realm of possibility."
Mountain's-Peak comes down the trail from the rim above.
Mountain's-Peak has arrived.
Sepdet nods grimly. ~We don't know much. I'd like to know more before I eliminate him, but I want to err on the side of caution. He's committed murder in a fashion that shows he's a mage, at the least. I don't know how it was done. I don't want him dropping any of us in the pursuit of knowledge.~ She looks around. ~So who has firepower? If Piotr's able to join up with us, we've got a crossbow. Anything else?~
Collin shakes his head, "I'm afraid not. I've never had the money for guns. If we want some, we can always go raid the Glasswalkers' places." He snickers.
Coda says "I do. I've got a shotgun and a couple of handguns, with enough ammo for each, thanks to Elan."
By the steam vents, Piotr comes into the caern from the southwest.
By the steam vents, Piotr heads back around the Walk towards the waterfall to the east.
Piotr comes out from the warm steam to the west.
Piotr has arrived.
Kaz comes down the trail from the rim above.
Kaz has arrived.
Well this seems to be a large gathering. Curiosity pricked, Mountain's-Peak makes her way to the waterfall. Curious as to what the small gathering is all about.
Sepdet looks up at Coda with a grimace. ~That will definitely help.~ She sighs. ~I hate using guns, but I put 'keep warriors alive' right up there on a par with 'kill the Wyrm wherever it breeds'. Can't kill the Wyrm if you lose everybody.~
Piotr hobble-squeaks his way along the Caern, coming up to the waterfall group as he readjusts the lumpy bag on his back.
Coda nods at Spedet.
By the steam vents, Storm-Singer comes into the caern from the southwest.
By the steam vents, Storm-Singer heads back around the Walk towards the waterfall to the east.
Storm-Singer comes out from the warm steam to the west.
Storm-Singer has arrived.
Sepdet says, ~Be braced for the unexpected. He's obviously got some sort of magic or gifts, and I'm sure the one Vicki saw isn't his only trick.~
Piotr tilts his head slightly. "I have interrupted. What I am missing?" Oo, his English is bad tonight.
Sepdet waves Piotr over. ~Checking in with Mouth,~ she says, her voice almost back to normal, although she's got that odd fuzzy edge to her voice that dental patients have when they've had novacaine shots. ~Laying plans as best we can.~
Piotr nods, and undoes the knot at the mouth of his bag. "Is possible I bring this with me for to be using?" Has anyone heard Piotr try and maintain his English during a full moon? Apparently this is the reason why not... He pulls his favorite toy out of the bag, a crossbow that practically has Burleigh & Stronginthearm stamped on the stock. "Have some wooden quarrels," he notes, "and perhaps parts for the making of the fire-arrows..."
Sepdet repeats rapidly the gist for Piotr. ~Collin's been investigating this doctor in connection with Wyrmy goings-on at the hospital. The man is studying mutant babies that have been born there. Collin has his home address, so I want to go there and search the place, preferably, while the good doctor is at work, then ambush him when he comes home. We'll probably kill him, since I assume he's a Wyrm agent, but I'd like to find out as much as possible.~ She smiles toothily as he reveals his firepower. ~And any distance weapons are a great asset. We can't kill him on the street; too hard to control the Veil. But anything that keeps him from touching us is a very good tool.~
Most of this is going right over the lupus Fury's head, so she simply finds a resting place near Collin and lays down. Just listening for the moment.
Piotr nods absently, loading one of the wooden fire-hardened spikes into place and sighting along its length.
Collin looks over at Piotr, then grins at him, "Cool, dude." His smile carries a feral edge to it. "We'll make this fucker regret that he was born. And just so you know, dealing with him *is* approved by the Alpha. He already told me that if he was bad news, to bring his heart out on a plate, so this is a plus."
Storm-Singer, passing nearby, overhears Sepdet and continues on his way with a contemptous snort.
Storm-Singer heads into the center.
Storm-Singer has left.
Carma, clinging to the darkness at the edge of the gathering, pads a little closer, coming to rest near Mountain's Peak, ears pricked and attentive.
Coda nods, folding her arms. "That's good to know."
Piotr glances up briefly. "Has to be on plate? I am making good bag from the skin of small waterproof animals - we can maybe using that instead?"
Sepdet relaxes slightly at Collin's report. ~Oh, good. I was wondering if I was going to get strung for this. It's my responsibility to go off hunting without checking with the alpha and whoever else wants a piece of the man.~
Piotr hums softly to himself and settles to doing something with a bit of stone in the background. It's an unnerving noise, even though it's quiet. Sharpening flint, or something.
Coda looks thoughtful at the sky. "How bad is the umbra, near his place?
Sepdet purses her lips. ~Probably messy, but as long as we're not going to the hospital, it's a good thought.~
Since Mountain's-Peak is laying down near Collin, she streatches her neck out and nips at the Strider's legs.
Sepdet jabs a thumb at Collin. ~Although Pez here can pop locks and closed doors.~
Coda nods at Sepdet. "Yeah, but who knows who's watching, or what kind of security systems he might have set up."
Sepdet grimaces. ~Good point.~
Collin holds his hands up, "Well, I'm not sure. If things go south real fast at his place and we're all popping out of the umbra, we won't do it at the same time. That'll give him less targets to focus on, you know, and all that stuff when he shows up."
Coda shrugs at Collin. "Better than having a nosy neighbor call the cops."
Collin looks down at Mountain's-Peak, then gives her a ruffle. "Hey there."
Sepdet decides, ~We can at least start in the umbra and see what we can see by peeking across, before we barge in.~
"I can wait on the other side, maybe?" Collin asks. "I really stink at getting in and out of the umbra and it'd probably take me forever to get across and back again if I had to, especially in the middle of the city."
Piotr murmurs, without looking up from hsi stone, "Could pull you if it was being necessary, Collin."
Sepdet winces. ~Duat. I may take as long as you, Collin, right now,~ she realizes ruefully, massaging the bridge of her nose with her fingers.
Piotr pages to the room: About how long would Gn 5 take to get across?
You paged the room with 'That's pretty high, Piotr. Same as Thorn's was. But let's face it, the Gauntlet in the city is always slow.'.
Collin pages to the room: Which is why Collin's bringing that up. The city is SLOW going.
Coda looks thoughtful again. "Can we get in the house, and out of the Umbra and set up before he arrives from work?"
"Maybe. We don't know if there's anyone *in* the house or if he's got any buddies like him there or any number of things." Collin pops his shoulders, pulling them back.
Sepdet shakes her head. ~Yes, assuming he's at the hospital late like last night.~ She gets to her feet. ~In fact, we should probably get moving.~
"Yeah. We should. Anyone have access to a car that can get us out there quicker? That way we could drive by, see if there's any lights on and if anyone's there and if we even need to *use* the Umbra. Secondly, how do we intend to *get* to the umbra from there? Anyone got a porable mirror they wanna carry with them all the way? Cross here? I don't think we wanna run through the city's umbra to get there right now. It's still pretty fucking dangerous." Collin grins a little, still petting Mountain's-Peak.
Piotr glances up and tucks away his toys.
Coda says "Well, where /is/ his house?"
"Nice section of town, just to the north of the city proper." Collin says, immediatley. "I can find it. Can you use the Questing Stone to keep an eye on him? That way we can know if he's getting closer to us? Or does it not work that way?" He looks at Sepdet.
Sepdet says grimly, ~Finding a reflective surface isn't usually a problem in town. Too many damn windows and trucks with side mirrors. Trust me on this.~ She nods at Collin's last question. ~I was going to try that, although I've never done it before, so I don't know if it will work.~
Coda nods at Collin. "That's well far away from anything in my territory."
Sepdet clears her throat. ~We can use the umbral paths to run at least as far as the bridge at this time of the moon, then we'll have to foot it the solw. I don't drive, but then I can't do Questing Stone in a car anyway. People ready?~
Long distance to the room: Sepdet pages FX the plan.
Collin bites his lip. He doesn't look all that pleased with the umbral part of the plan, but looks like he'll live with it. "All right."
Piotr nods, slinging the bag over his shoulder.
Mountain's-Peak pokes Collin's leg with her nose. What are you going to hunt, in the scab?
"Shhh," Collin places a finger to his lips, "We're hunting wabbits. Or, in this case, doctors who touch people and drop them to the ground and work at the hospital."
You paged Foxtrot X-Ray with 'Okay, here's the plan. I use Questing Stone to make sure Tibor's still at the hospital. We don't WANT to meet him in such a public place. We're going to his house instead, using the address Collin found. We'll scout it out, try and search it, before he gets home, probably stepping through the umbra so as to avoid any home security he has, depending on whether the Gauntlet is too thick there to make it practical. Then we'll ambush him when/if he comes inside the house.'.
Mountain's-Peak's ears flip back, not exactly having a clue as to what Collin is talking about. Hunt well then.
You paged Collin, Coda, Piotr, and Foxtrot X-Ray with 'So we're travelling. We have to go on foot and can only use the umbra safely as far as the bridge. We're walking 'cause as far as I see no one has a vehicle and certain Strider elders tend to depend on their own two feet. I expect we left a little after sunset, so we can catch up to real time now. What does my Questing Stone show, as we are travelling?'.
Sepdet gives Carma a quiet wave as she and her little band head off, but ignores Mountain's Peak.
Collin pages: MP wants to come. Should I invite her? :)
You paged Collin with 'Uh. Sepdet dislikes her immensely but. :)'.
Tibor pages to Collin and Sepdet: Hissss. Basically, @tel here and let me know what you're up to, etc, after the planning session.
From afar, Collin would look to you on whether to invite her not anyways IC. :)
Long distance to Collin: Sepdet would shake her head with a scowl. Doesn't trust her a _bit_.
Long distance to Collin: Sepdet, biased.
Foxtrot X-Ray pages to Collin, Coda, Piotr, and Sepdet: The Stone tells you that Tibor is away in the south of the city when you are at the I-90 bridge. Not near the hospital, and not near his listed home.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet looks sheepish. I don't mean to be cutting out MP if she really wants to come, but Sepdet has some IC prejudices against MP.
Carma fades back into her surroundings, glancing at Mountain's Peak as she goes.
Collin pages: It's okay. :)
From afar, to the room, Mountain's-Peak nods and understands perfectly. Anyone mind if I tag along in a OCC manner. I'm dying of curiosity, to see how this finally turns out. Been /months/ in the making. :>
Long distance to the room: Sepdet doesn't mind.
From afar, to the room, Collin doesn't mind either.
You paged the room with 'Okay, the GM says wabbit hunters should @tel #3367.'.
Sepdet contorts and blurs as she is transformed.
You shift into Homid form.
Collin has left.
Tibor's House -- Study(#3367RAJ)
Contents:
Collin
Tibor
Carma pages: Good luck, Sepdet. :)
Piotr has arrived.
You paged Carma with 'I sure hope to gods I don't get anyone killed. I think Sep'll throat herself if it happens again.'.
You paged Carma with 'So thanks. :)'.
As the motley gang of what looks like teen hoodlums gets within a few blocks of the address Collin's aiming for, Sepdet pauses frequently to make sure it feels like her quarry is still a distance away.
The area the group arrives at is a modestly wealthy area; not like the rich gated communities that lie further to the north, but certainly above the common run of suburb. The grounds - yes, there is extensive yardage - are lush with greenery and plants. A 7-foot brick wall runs around the lot, with two gates; one for people, one for the car.
Kaz pages: Fox is insane, film at 11. GMing TWO groups.
You paged Kaz with 'Yes indeed.'.
Sepdet murmurs to them, "Look for cops. See if you can find a parked truck or goodsized window for us to push through," while she weighs the small rock in her palm and peers at it.
"Yeah, so, wassup." Collin mutters, shaking his head. "There's the one. Or at least I think that's the one." And he starts poking around, doing as asked by the Elder strider.
Piotr nods slightly, moving off to investigate things in the same general direction as Collin, although a little ways away. He's taken the precaution of oiling his leg quite thoroughly, so there'll be no squeaking tonight.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet peers after Coda. Where's our SHOTGUN carrier!
Collin pages to the room: Yeah. :P
You paged the room with 'Oh. Speaking of which. Coda said she could get a couple of handguns from Elan. Is that okay, oh GM? If so, I'm taking one.'.
You paged Tibor with 'Sepdet is probably firearms 2--proficient enough, but no expert-- but has only used shotguns, and hasn't practiced in 3-4 years.'.
You paged Coda with 'You comin?'.
Coda has arrived.
Tibor pages to the room: She could get one handgun.
From afar, to the room, Piotr is just toting his usual weapon in the Lumpy Sack - y'all knew about the crossbow, right? Is that okay?
From afar, Coda nods. Still watching my son. :)
You paged Coda with 'Oh, got it. <hug>'.
You paged Collin with 'So I take the gun? You don't know how to shoot, yah?'.
From afar, Collin nods. Shot a gun, like, once or twice ICly yeaaaars ago. That's it. So it'll have to go to you.
There are no lights visible through the windows. The place looks dead.
From afar, to the room, Tibor needs one more reminder. What /time/ of night do you come in here?
Long distance to the room: Sepdet thinks we'd have left the caern about sunset or a little after, so it makes sense we're in synch with the game clock--we're here now at 8:30 or so. Yes?
Coda pages to the room: Okay. I just put my son to bed.
You paged the room with 'If that doesn't work, the GM can declare we got here later. All Sep has to go on is that TIbor was at the hospital in the evening last night, so she's guessing he works late on the weekends, maybe. :)'.
From afar, to the room, Tibor notes the times, etc.
You paged Tibor with 'And Tibor's signal on the Questing Stone seems still to be far away, yah?'.
Tibor pages: He is still to the south of her, yes.
Sepdet claps her hand over the rock and breathes out. "Okay. He still seems to be way south. Probably at dinner or something," she guesses, oblivious to any sinister connotations. "I think Coda's right; this place looks like money, and probably a burgler alarm at the least. Let's get across and search the other side first."
Piotr looks back to Collin for a moment, then to Sepdet, waiting to see who'll lead the group over, if anyone.
You paged the room with 'We were looking for a parked truck (they have big side mirrors) or a window within a few blocks of Tibor's house so we can slip through the Gauntlet.'.
Collin pages to the room: Without breakin' veil. ;P
You paged the room with 'Yeah. That. :)'.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet fusses with her manual trying to remember whether going through the Gauntlet will take minutes or hours here, before I make the IC call, but oh well. :)
Tibor pages to the room: Minutes.
Tibor pages to the room: The closest thing to an accessable window you find is blocks away in a strip mall.

Sepdet looks around for potential observers from the far side of the parking lot, hoping that Sunday night shoppers have all gone home.
It IS a Sunday night, meaning the places here have all been closed since 5 or so. No-one is around.
Sepdet tells Piotr, having caught his glance earlier, "You'd better drag us over. I gave all my spirit to Fog so I can't do it."
Piotr nods quietly, thankful that he made sure to dedicate his favorite toy as well as his favorite leg, way back long ago. "When everyone is ready?" he murmurs, looking to the others.
"Ready." Collin looks a little uncomfortable with this, but willing.
Collin looks up towards the mall, searching for any outside security, first.
Collin pages to the room: Cameras and the like.
Sepdet sets a hand on Piotr's shoulder. "Right."
Long distance to the room: Sepdet grins. Sepdet keeps forgetting Weavertech until people remind her. Toxic's lessons seem to have slipped.
There does not appear to be any, at all.
Coast clear, Sepdet gives Piotr a thumbs' up.
Coda pages to the room: BTW, who has the handgun?
You paged the room with 'Assuming you have your shotgun, I claim the handgun. Otherwise not.'.
Piotr nods slightly, seeking out the reflection on the appropriate window and concentrating.
From afar, to the room, Coda nods, and has her shotgun.
Coda shifts from foot to foot, appearing somewhat skitterish. If anything, she looks more nervous about trying to hide the shotgun she carries under her jacket, than she is from the impending fight.
No such Gift.
Long distance to Foxtrot X-Ray: Sepdet realizes belatedly I'm back to zero gnosis because i would've dedicated the gun. Woo, living dangerously!
Piotr pages to the room: Is it my turn again? Am I supposed to roll or something?
Tibor pages to the room: No; you're under no real time pressure; everyone makes it through after about fifteen/twenty minutes.
The passage to the Umbra is without incident. On the Other Side, the moon burns like a sun, illuminating a grey and pallid landscape where the life has mostly been sucked from the area, but has not been replaced by the sterile mechanations of the Weaver.
Sepdet has to work a little harder than usual to get her bearings, as low on gnosis as she is tonight. But after blinking and scowling at a mindless lump of Pokeman weaver-spirits crawling up a shop window like ants, she starts back towards Tibor's house.
Sepdet breathes a little easier. "It may look dead here, but at least we don't have to worry about humans," she tells the others.
Collin peers around, quitely, then takes a deep breath nad lets it out slowly. "Yeah. Well, lead the way."
Coda looks relieved at finally reaching the other side, not bothering to hide the shotgun, which looks positively monstrous when being held by this fifteen year old girl.
Blocks later, amid the half-shadows of houses and the almost more firm shadows of trees still here, and trees long since cut down in the real world, the group reaches the house. It stands there, somewhat more sere than the surrounding landscape. A few inky shadows lay unnutually around the place; they move and flap at odd times and looks somewhat disturbing. Maybe minor Bane spirits, maybe something else; who knows?
Piotr looks this way and that swiftly, almost twitchily, turning ultimately to Sepdet and following. He stops for a moment to be sure the crossbow is ready for... whatever.
Sepdet bares a fang as she eyes the spirits. "Let's scout all around. If you find a spot to peek through and look for weaver-spirits, cameras, anything that looks like security, do it." She heads warily towards the moving shadow things, risking getting within four or five yards to try and identify what they are.
Long distance to Tibor: Sepdet puts on Sense Wyrm. I don't have Name the Spirit so I probably won't be able to recognize them unless they're scrags or nightmare spirits or some other common icky.
Coda pauses for a moment, to take a handkerchief out of a pocket, and wipes her makeup off. Once done, she shifts into Glabro so the gun doesn't dwarf her as much and nods to Sepdet. "Got it."
Collin pages to the room: Gah. Family. :)
Collin peers towards the house, thn tilts his head back a little. "Lovely. Well, okay. So we scout." He grins, then peeks about slowly, moving cautiously.
Collin moves off to scout the area. Nothing in the area seems to ping on Sepdet's Sense Wyrm; theo whole area just seems oddly cold and dead.
Sepdet glares suspiciously at the black things, hair on the back of her neck prickling. "They don't smell like Wyrm. But I don't like them at _all_," she mutters. Shaking her head, she edges warily around the house doing a circuit to see what she can see from this side, or peeking: mirrors and security devices are her main concerns here, although she's trying to search for anything unusual.
Piotr creeps along in silence, occasionally whipping around to look this way or that. He's not so interested inthe security system. Obviously, others are looking for that. but if there's anything truly bizarre, he wants to know.
Sepdet eventually meets up with everyone on the lawn, after allowing ten to fifteen minutes of poking around. "Anything?"
Collin keeps poking about, shaking his head. "I don't see anything. At least not yet."
All the windows have their shades drawn, so no mirrors can be seen inside at all; a few small Weaver spirits skuttle about the house, as they do most all houses, but that seems to be all.
Coda shakes her head. "I havn't seen anything."
Sepdet nods. "Let's move inside and step through from there if we can." She checks her rock again to see if the prey's position has moved.
Tibor pages: Yes, it has moved. It is slightly to the east, now.
Sepdet scowls. "He's headed over to the hospital now, I think," she adds as she pushes into what passes for 'door' here.
The door is, of course, locked.
Collin follows, ready to be led through just like that. He looks somewhat relieved.
Long distance to Collin, Coda, and Piotr: Sepdet demonstrates her dino-dom. One used to be able to enter houses and such in the umbra because they were only 'half there'. Doh. :)
Sepdet waves Collin over with a faint grin. "Your turn to show off, Pez," she says, pointing at the lock.
"And you know I do that better than anything else." Collin approaches the door, then wigggles his fingers over it, "Sim-Sim-Sallabim!"
And, as if my magic, the lock slides open and clicks.
Piotr's eyebrows rise at this particular trick, but he says nothing. In fact, he hasn't said anything since before the crossing into the Umbra.
Coda mutters to Collin, "I thought it was 'Open Sesame'."
Sepdet opens the door herself, and heads inside first, after a cautious scan of the entryway.
Collin nahs at Coda, "That's, like, Aladdin. This is Johnny Quest and his Token Indian Mystical Friend." He nods, solemnly, then moves in slowly after Sepdet.
The door yawns open, the passages beyond sterile and smooth, like they simply have not been here that long.
Sepdet takes a preliminary tour of the house, keeping people together while looking for anything strange. If there isn't any (handwave, handwave) she chooses a mirror or the inside of a window to cross back over, preferably in what looks like a study.
Coda pages: Thus leading us into this room. My. How conveeenient. :)
Nothing much seems to be strange on the first floor; the house has a smaller, second story, as well as a basement. It's a pretty nice and roomy place, actually. There is a large mirror in one room, as well as a smaller one in the downstairs bath.
"Let's not play Scooby-Doo. Let's stick together, folks, I think. Why don't we start at the basement and work our way up from there, you know? Study'd be a good palce to start too, though." Collin announces his opinion.
Sepdet checks her stone again. "Okay. You guys do most of the looking; I'll monitor his position and stay in the room with you."
Tibor pages to the room: So you come out into the real world?
Piotr pages to the room: If that's what the Boss wants.
You paged the room with 'Yeah. I guess starting with the basement bathroom, on Collin's suggestion. We start at the bottom, work our way up. Not going into anything too thoroughly--we may not have time--but keeping an eye out for papers related to "pathology research".'.
Collin nods towards Sepdet, "Sure. We should find another mirror,t hough, in case we have to cross back quickly."
Isaac pages: Remember not to die.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet grins. When we cross through in the basement, Sepdet can pull the bathroom mirror off the wall and carry it with us!
You paged the room with 'And Sepdet, who thinks _all_ things in a human house are a little weird anyhow, is less likely to spot "unusual" items. So she's monitoring to see if Tibor's coming home, while the other 3 ransack the place.'.
Tibor pages to the room: No. no; You've only looked at the first floor. You've seen entrances to the second floor and basement. the large mirror is in the largest frist floor room; the bathroom mirror i little ways back in the house.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet oops. Sorry. Thought I was handwaving things a bit by "taking a tour of the house" in one pose. We'll go up to the top floor and then down to the bottom, looking for anything odd umbraside, before crossing through.
Long distance to Coda: Sepdet tries to handwave the GM. Oops. Bad. :)
Coda pages: Bad Strider! No biscuit!
Aha. The basement definately has something odd about it; it is much harder to move in there, and there are Weaver spirits in much more abundance.
"They always keep their weird shit in the basement," Collin mutters in annoyance.
Piotr glances to Collin, inclining his head in acknowledgment. Somehow this feels a little too familiar for comfort.
Sepdet swears as they push downstairs and hit a Gauntlet that feels like thick jell-o. "What the?" she wades through the weaverspirits, again going first in case something decides to pop out and chew. "Some of his 'experiments'?" she guesses with a snarl. She looks around this area thoroughly.
Coda scowls. "So it isn't just me who thinks this is abnormal. Good."
The Weaver spirits are trapped, almost, as if caged in the real word; the signature of lights or something similar, but on a large scale. Also, a foulness permeates the place, a stench.
Sepdet gives a cautious sniff, nostrils wrinkling in disgust, before turning back towards the stairs. "Well, I guess we know what to check first. I'll see if I can pull that mirror off in the bathroom and carry it with us; let's cross through there and then work our way back down here Realmside. See what the good Doctor is brewing in his cellar."
You paged Tibor with 'Wyrm?'.
Tibor pages: AAAHHHHOOOGGAAA!!
You paged Tibor with 'Er. That sniff was Sense Wyrm again.'.
Sniffing, Collin tilts his head back, "Always the basement." HE ughs, nose-wrinkling.
Tibor pages: Bad. Really, really bad.
Coda wrinkles her nose and turns her head at the stink. "Fugh," she announces.
The sink is worse.
Piotr simply pinches his nose, wincing at the smell.
Sepdet staggers as the whiff permeates her nostrils and hits her brain a second later. She braces herself against the stairwell and swears under her breath. "Wyrm," she tells them curtly, not that they needed to be told.
"Oh, man." He chokes. "This place *stinks*. Bad. *Real* fucking bad." Collin gahs. "The Wyrm is all over the place. We better get moving."
Sepdet nods grimly, not voicing her suspicions yet, and leads the way back up to the little bathroom to implement the plan, looking a little green around the gills. She checks the questing stone yet again before ordering Piotr to take them across.
Piotr nods, once, and looks to be sure the others are in place before fixing his gaze on the mirror and pushing through the Gauntlet.
Coda grumbles, "I should've brought some TNT." After that, she patiently waits for her turn to reach through.
Tibor pages: The stone shows him a bit to the west, now.
You paged Tibor with 'Getting closer, yah?'.
The garou push through into the bathroom, and Collin is immidiately struck by the fact that there is light coming from under the bathroom door; no lights where visible outside the house.
Tibor pages: It just shows you direction
You paged Tibor with 'Oops. :)'.
You paged Collin, Coda, and Piotr with 'Ah hell.NOW the GM tells me I can't tell distance with the Questing Stone. :)'.
Collin says, "Guys? I think we're not alone here." He murmurs, quietly, fists clenching.
Coda pulls up the shotgun to be in the ready position and ndos at Collin.
Four Garou in a bathroom, whee, and on a full moon. Sepdet freezes as Collin points it out. She looks from one to the other of them. Taking a deep breath, she mimes opening the door forcefully, then points to each of them in turn and jabs her finger sharply towards the door. Finally she raises one finger and points--one, two, three, four-- in spots placed around that finger, as if surrounding it, then points at the four of them again in turn. She raises her eyebrows at them questioningly to see if they understand.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet many years trying to pose Strider Sign Language pays off. I hope. :)
Piotr's crossbow makes a terribly soft *ka-click* noise as he brings it down to level. As Sepdet starts miming, he watches her fingers, then moves into a position that could conceivably be construed as 'third idiot to charge through the door'. Is that what she's trying to say?
Coda, having generally the same idea as Piotr, moves into what she supposes her positioin must be.
Sepdet nods affirmatively at them, takes her gun in her left hand, counts down from five with her right, then turns the knob and bursts into the next room.

Tibor pages to the room: afk for a minute.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet er, oh, I guess I should say what order. Um. Me, Piotr, Coda, Collin.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet switches Piotr and Coda there since Piotr nominated himself third idiot, actually. :)
Coda bursts through the door after Sepdet, doing her best imitation of Maiami Vice in checking all the points in the room.
Piotr might have oiled that leg, but oil only goes so far when one has to charge the door and leap through it... *SKREEEK!*
You paged Piotr with 'Ah, realism. :)'.
From afar, to the room, Tibor comes back.
From afar, MP-OOC snugs. Just wanted to say Danke, for organizing this. I've been waiting for so long, to have this mini story actually come to something. :)
Piotr pages: Piotr's Garou name is LIghtning-Crashes. This is because Zippy the Wonder Mule knocked over a suit of armor in a vampire's house on his RoP, thanks to the leg.
Long distance to MP-OOC: Sepdet feels a bit bad about upstaging anyone else who's been working on it.
You paged Piotr with 'Oopsie.'.
Piotr pages: Ayup. I just figured I'd better inject a little of that as a fair warning.
You paged MP-OOC with 'But it was IC. Sepdet heard about it, she was the highest-ranking person Vicki reported it to, so she took it into her head to go after Tibor. Sepdet has this bad habit of doing things on her own without checking with all the higher-ups and making sure she wasn't trespassing on others' territory. You'd think she was a Strider or something.'.
From afar, MP-OOC shrugs. Hospital foo, was the origionl reason I apped Vicki. She's become more then that though. :> Collin and I, are the ones who've been working on it the most, so you haven't really jilted people. Oh, BTW, Vicki is very good Kin. :) Expect kids sometime in the future. :>

The large sitting room/den is lit up brightly, as is most of the rest of the first story, from what can be seen. There is a young man, almost a boy, sitting in a high wingbacked chair, reading a book. He looks up, astonished and surprised, when the Vampire Assault Commando's burst in from the bathroom door.
Sepdet heads for the far side with gun aimed squarely at the unfortunate fellow's chest, intending to get between the kid and escape routes. "It's the fuckin' Easter bunny, pup. Don't even think of try'n to call 911."
l tibor
A non-descript man of middle years with short brown hair and a neatly trimmed dark brown beard and mustache. His eyes are small and mahogany-colored, perhaps the only really distinguishing feature of an over-all bland face.
He's dressed in conservative blacks and greys, looking like he belongs in a board room or at church. The only spot of color on his clothing is a single white carnation tucked into his lapel.
You paged Tibor with 'Is Tibor's @desc this boy's @desc? Sepdet doesn't know what Tibor looks like.'.
Tibor pages: no, it's utterly different.
You paged Tibor with 'Oh goodie. :)'.
Seeing that Sepdet has the boy covered, Coda keeps an eye out for any other occupants that might be attempting to flank them.
Collin's last, of course, and he waits for everyone else to go through so that he can move. So much for stealth. He blinks at the boy, then sniffs again, checking for Taint once more.
The youth looks about 17-20, maybe, blonde-hair, blue eyes; utterly beautiful. His eyes brim over as he sees the others and he quails back in fear, drawing his legs up into the chair with him; he starts to sob softly.
Sepdet gives the pistol an angry shake, baring her teeth at the young man in a snarl. "Shut your mouth before I blow another hole in your face. How the hell are we s'posed to rob the house with you in it? And what the fuck is all that weird crap in the basement?"
Coda pages to the room: We need stockings to pull over our heads.
Piotr scowls faintly, watching the whole mess wordlessly (and turning sideways to make the antique weapon a little less noticeable). This isn't his line of work.
Long distance to MP-OOC: Sepdet improvises like crazy.
The boy curls in on himself, sobbing. "I don't know, I don't know!" he manages to get out, after several shaky attempts.
Collin steps up closer to Sepdet, leaning in to say something to her quietly.
You sense Collin means the Wyrm when he says this, obviously. "He's Touched."
Coda gives Sepdet a meaningful nod, hoping she notices it.
You paged Coda with 'Ack! Meaning WHAT?'.
Sepdet tenses at Collin's report and scowls. She stalks towards the boy and pounces for the back of his shirt, jabbing the gun against the side of his head. "Shut up, bitch." Her slang needs work. "You got five seconds to tell us what your Da keeps in the basement before my friends and I blow your head out."
Coda pages: Has Truth of Gaia. :)
You paged Coda with 'Oh, right.'.
Long distance to Tibor: Sepdet verifies Collin's report: she'll see how badly the boy smells of Wyrm before making that awful decision. She knows the smell of Dancers all too well.
The boy screams wordlessly and cries.
You paged Tibor with 'Poor little Ghoul.'.
From afar, Tibor chuckles.
You paged Tibor with 'So, does he smell as bad as a Dancer? Or less?'.
Tibor pages: Not nearly as bad; he barely registers.
Something catches in Sepdet's face, although only those who know her well would recognize a stab of pain. She raises the hand wielding the pistol and brings it down with all her strength against the back of the kid's skull.
Long distance to Tibor: Sepdet attempts to knock him out without killing him, but may misjudge. :P
The boy slumps unconscious, not that he wasn't heading there quickly himself. he's dressed in nice conservative and expensive clothes. There seem to be no others around this room; you can see the kitchen from here, and a hallway leading back into the house.
Collin leans down and starts patting him down, searching the kid once Sepdet's knocked him cold.
Collin produces a wallet from the boy, then flips through it to get a name or find anything useful. He pulls out the keys too, keeping a hold of them. "These might come in handy."
Sepdet nods at Collin thankfully. "He's tainted but it's not that bad. The Doc's probably done something to him, but I'd rather not kill him if we don't have to." She rises to her feet and starts searching around. "We need someone to watch the street in case 'Dad' comes home. Piotr, you're a little creaking on the stairs, so you do it. The rest of us, let's check the basement while we've got a chance."
Long distance to the room: Sepdet's soft-hearted streak shows through like body odor. ;)
Coda nods. "Somehow I don't find the fact that the guy didn't know anything about the basement reassuring."
Sepdet says grimly, "I think we're going to find mutant babies in tubs, Coda. Something we may actually want to leave for authorities to find, if we can make sure they're dead. Come on."
"Me either." Collin starts working his way towards the stairs. "LEt's hope things go a little more smoothly from here, huh?" He grins a little at that.
Coda shudderes at the very thought. "Man. I never thought I'd be living in an X-Files episode. Creepy."
Sepdet mutters reflexively, "Hope springeth eternal." Someone's had to have taught her that phrase at some point.
You paged the room with 'The corollary, from my first Sepdet adventure: "...and gets fried by a bugzapper."'.
Coda pages: Buzzzzap
You paged Coda with 'It was a very, very big electric fence. :)'.
So you leave Piotr up here with the kid, and Sep and Collin go downstairs?
You paged the room with 'And Coda. Piotr gets guard duty, lucky man, unless he protests. :)'.
Piotr glances down at the boy a moment, then looks to Sepdet and nods. He hefts the crossbow meaningfully, tapping his shoulder with his free hand before miming a single shot. Is dad going to be plug-worthy, then?
Long distance to the room: Sepdet belatedly realizes that the Tin Woodsman may not be the stealthiest person to have creeping up and down stairs.
Sepdet nods firmly at Piotr, baring her teeth. "Yes. Gotta be Wyrm. I'd love to know what he's up to, but better safe than sorry."
The basement door is locked tight.
Piotr nods. Gimpy might not be the most nimble person in the world, but deep down where it matters he's got the soul of a sniper.
Sepdet waves Collin over to do his magic fingers again.
Yep. There he goes. Collin wanders up and touches his fingers to the door. This time, he utters no magick words.
Sepdet braces for something gross to burst out of the stairwell. She may be named for Hope, but unfortunately, experience has taught her paranoia.
From afar, Collin has this feeling he's gonna get fried. :)
It takes about five minutes, actually, for Collin to undo the multiple locks on the door, but finally it slides - yes, not opens, but slides - open. It's revealed to be wood on the outside, but the other side is a solid sheet of steel.
From afar, Collin whews. :0
Tibor pages: And if this was a Camarilla vamp, or a Settite, maybe. No such luck, Sep has no idea what it is.
You paged Tibor with 'Yep. She knows a wee bit about Brujah and Tremere, but isn't really aware there are multiple "types". To her, they're all Children of Set. Some use nasty magic, some are buff, some are butt ugly.'.
Lots of locks. Collin frowns a little, muttering under his breath in annoyance. Once the last door is done, he steps off to the side and peers at the steel barrier.
Coda whispers a whistle of appreciation. "We've got ourselves a real mad scientist here."
Sepdet taps the metal wall silently, baring her teeth again, and starts down, ears and senses pricked. "Looks that way."
"There's doom and gloom and things go booooom, in Dexter's Laaaaab." Collin mutters that, too.
Piotr settles himself at the window on his floor, meanwhile, and props the crossbow up in a suitable spot. He glances sidelong at the unconscious boy every so often- and he listens for changes from the boy always - but most of his attention is on the outside.
The stairs turn once and then again, forming a nice 'u' shape. After rounding the last turn you can see down into a makeshift medical laboratory. Dirt floor, some animal cages to one side, and two long metal carts, human sized. Both have sheets thrown over some figure.
The figure on the left is decidedly shorter than the one of the right.
Sepdet scans the set-up with cool disgust, memories of long past adventures coming back to her like bad acid flashbacks. "Wyrm," she whispers coldly. She moves over to the shrouded forms on the carts, and leans close, searching it for any movement or sound of breathing.
Coda inches closer to the sheet covered cart, pointing her shotgun at it, to cover Sepdet's investigation.
Collin reches down and pokes at the dirt floor once, then starts wandering towards the bodies along Sepdet. He's definitely taking a good look around the room, gaze turned towards the exit, too, just in case.
Piotr hums happy little tunes that sound like the kind of thing Lee Harvey Oswald (or Raoul, depending on who you ask) probably hummed to himself as he waited for his moment in the sun. Checks the boy. Back to humming.
You paged Tibor with 'Oh. Sepdet does know about ghouls. Hmmmmm. I don't think she's thinking along those terms yet, though; Mad Scientist makes her think of mages gone bad.'.
Maybe Collin even suspects it, but that doesn't prevent the jumps when the hand reaches up from under the sheet to grap Sepdet's wrist; long pale white fingers, impossibly long and twisted. A shuddering gurgle comes from the larger figure, the one that has done this. Metal rattles on metal.
Sepdet yelps and slams the gun's butt down on the wrist of the hand as hard as she can, jerking back.
You paged the room with 'Scooby DOOOO! Where ARE YOU?'.
Piotr pages: Giving the Warren Commission something to play with?
Coda pumps the action on the shotgun, putting the first shell in the chamber. She holds the weapon steady, ready to shoot the.... whatever it is... if it decides to leap out and attack Sepdet.
Jerking, Collin stares down at the hand, "Jesus Christ." He, unfortuantely, doesn't have anything to beat it with, unless there's something that'll make a good bludgeoning instrument.
The hand clings, and Sepdet's movement jerks the surprisingly light body off the table; it sprawls onto the dirt floor. Tubing that led into it springs free, spraying the Garou with blood. The body makes an attempt to get up, writhing on the floor; a sighing, hissing noise comes from it as it weakly attempts to move.
The sheet is still tangled around it, obscuring what exactly it looks like.
Sepdet swears and shifts, veil be DAMNED, grabbing for the elbow of the arm that's caught her and attempting to tear the hand free with her added strength.
Sepdet contorts and blurs as she is transformed.
You shift into Crinos form.
Coda quickly steps up to the body, and yanks the sheet off of it with one hand, while still pointing the shotgun at it with the other.
The hand tears free, but it tears free at the wrist; the hand itself is still clutching Hopestar's wrist while the rest of the body falls to the ground. The sheet is yanked off, and the body is revealed as female - sort of, maybe. It's hideously deformed; the skin is thin and white as paper, while the veins of the chest and abdomen seem to grow on the /outside/; the throat is oxposed, raw red flesh; the mouth and nose have been fused together into a pallid scar-rissue mass. The throat gapes open in an obscene parody of a mouth, gasping and mewling.
"Oh, fuck me." Collin turns green at the gills, not even having bothered to shift yet. He turns towards the other form on the other bed, moving to keep an eye on it, readying himself to shift as well.
Sepdet starts jumping up and down on the body in a twisting motion like a cartoon character trying to flatten a spider, raking her back feet across the throat and chest. ~Get the other!~ she snarls, eyes rounded to whites with disgust and dismay.
Coda pales at the sight of this monstrosity. She deicdes that, whatever it is, it should be put out of it's misery. So, carefully levelling the shotgun at the things head, she pulls the trigger, hoping to make it's death a quick one. Then she turns to the other one.
Piotr glances up briefly at the sound of the shotgun somewhere well and far below him. Assuming, of course, that the basement has not been sound-shielded. A quick look at the door, another at the boy, then a renewed vigilance at the window.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet still fails to use her gun. Is she being stealthy, or did she just forget? :)
From afar, Coda chuckles.
Tibor pages to the room: Actually, Piotr, you hear not a single thing
Piotr pages to the room: Fine by me. Just the standard check of the boy, then, and back to the happy music.
From afar, to the room, Coda bets we all go deaf in the basement, though. :)
The head explodes in a red ruin, the body shivering in it's death-throes. The other body is blown clear off the pallet and into the medical machinery to one side, as is the residual shotgun blast. The lights flicker - Piotr DOES notice this - and small fires start up.
Piotr glances up at this, the humming faltering momentarily. Instinctively he glances a little further out the window. Is someone fiddling with the power lines or external circuit boxy things? (He's not exactly an electrician.)
Coda looks up at the ceiling, to see if there's any autmated fire alarms that she can dismantle before they end up calling the fire department.
Piotr says a bad, bad word in Russian, but knows his chances of getting downstairs in a hurry are pretty slim. Instead he turns up the collar of his old shirt, concealing as much of his face as possible, and brushes his hair down over his forehead as he leans just far enough out to keep the crossbow trained on the center of the outside driveway.
Sepdet swears and looks for wires to yank out of the wall, on the theory that it will isolate the fires before they spread. She casts around for a tub of water or other liquid to throw on the fires, not entirely conversant in the difference between electrical fires and wood fires. ~Collin, take a good look around! Last chance!~
Long distance to the room: Sepdet refuses to use the word "fires" anymore, having said it 4 times in one pose. The medical equipment the zombies were attached to is what's burning, yah?
Tibor pages to the room: Yes.
And Collin does, at that. He peers around, searching for any other exit other than the one they came through, and then peers at the machinery as it starts on fire, "Well, this didn't go like I'd planned it to." HE looks irritated, but is ready to go, unless something catches his attention.
Long distance to Tibor: Sepdet hopes the closest vessel of liquid doesn't contain, say, rubbing alcohol. Sepdet knows not to throw oil on fire, but she doesn't know lab chemicals.
No other exits make themselves apparent, and the fire is starting to catch nicely. No other wires on that side seem apparent, and Coda does not see any indication that there is any fire alarms or sprinklers.
Piotr pages to the room: That's it. You people are getting crossbow training. When's the last time you saw a stone-tipped wooden spike start a fire?
Coda now checks for fire extinguishers to use on the spreading blaze.
From afar, Collin wishes you had Create Element. :P
Long distance to Collin: Sepdet does too. Not for the last time. :)
Collin pages: Go fucking learn it. :P
Long distance to Collin: Sepdet doesn't know anyone who HAS it. Thorn's dead.
Collin pages: Suck. :)
Collin pages: It's a RAnk 1 Metis Gift, dang it. Can't be hard for you to use it. :p
You paged Collin with 'I just need to find someone to teach it.'.
From afar, Collin laughs. :)
Coda scowls. "Let's get out of here and shut the door. If it's as airtight as it looks, it won't set the house on fire."
"Damn it. Fuck." Collin eyes the machinery and the sheet. "I don't think that'll smother it.." He steps back, "Let's go, let's go."
Tibor pages to the room: The door did look very airtight
From afar, Coda hrm. You're a Metis, right? You can Create Element?
Sepdet blinks at Coda's suggestion, slightly bewildered by applied physics, but doesn't debate the issue. After a last look round, taking in the animals in cages, the whole macabre place, committing it to memory, she shifts down and rushes for the stairs.
Sepdet contorts and blurs as she is transformed.
You shift into Homid form.
You paged Tibor with 'Animals in cages--do they look mutated too, I assume?'.
From afar, Collin sure won't be forgetting this, that's for sure. :)
Long distance to Coda: Sepdet has never found anyone to teach me the gift. Thorn's dead. :)
Tibor pages: Well, you cannot recognize them as animals :) That answer your question? :) They're enough to give even garou nightmares.
You paged Tibor with 'Gaaaah. Okay. Just making sure.'.
Coda nods at Collin and is at the stairs, right behind Sepdet.
From afar, to the room, Coda is going to have to call it a night, here, soon, Folks.
Tibor pages to the room: It should all be over soon.
Shadow-of-Blood pages: It really torques me off. She bitches about Talon RP in the Lounge when I'm not around, then never actually goes IC herself.
Collin pages to the room: It's never good when the game master says that.
Somewhere high above there is a *thoqq!*, and then the happy humming begins again. With an oh-so-practiced twitch of the forefinger Piotr lets his crossbow bolt fly. Not bothering to watch it land - he is quite used to firing these things and hitting- he reaches immediately for another bolt, reloads the bow, and glances up to see if he can get off another shot out the window.
You paged the room with 'Oh, poor Tibor. :)'.
Coda pages to the room: | Tibor . o O (Well, that was another boring day at the Hospital. Let's see what kind of evil I can do at ho... *thwock* ... the hell? Ack! Torpor!)
When Piotr looks up, it is to see the well-dressed man laying on the ground, clutching his leg and moaning. The chauffer-uniformed man, now quite near the window and door, looks up at Piotr with these red, red glowing eyes and smiles, showing his brilliant white fangs. Then he blurs into motion like a lightning bolt and rams his hand through the window, grabbing Piotr by the neck.
Coda pages to the room: Oh, poor Poitr.
Piotr's finger twitches on the crossbow again. There is no window left thanks to that ramming. There is a wooden bolt in the crossbow. And Piotr's about to get cranky.
Piotr contorts and blurs as he is transformed.
Piotr shifts into Crinos form.
Coda pages to the room: Okay. I have to go. Sepdet, will you spoof me, please?
Sepdet is bolting up the stairs anyhow, so that the door can be slammed behind them. As she hears the familiar sound of a bolt releasing she puts on the speed, but not as much as the Strider is used to using in such circumstances. She struggles to get the gun cocked, unused to this style of trigger, and bursts into the room.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet will do.
"Damn," And that causes Collin to bolt up there as well, heading up after Sepdet.
Coda pages: Thanks. Try not to get me killed. :)
Long distance to Coda: Sepdet puts you at the back and will do my best.
Even as the others are boiling up the stairs, there is another *TUNG* of a crossbow bolt going wide, the growl of a crinos, and the gasping yelp of surprise from the 'man' that now has his hand ON said crinos. "Der vermin!" he snarls.
Said crinos, quite naturally, has no real desire to keep that hand on his throat. A Crinos' legs aren't really designed for the traditional knee in the crotch; on the other hand one of the legs has a nasty wood-and-metal contraption on the end of it that will probably hurt quite a bit. With a rumbling snarl , Lightning-Crashes kicks the fellow just as hard as he possibly can with the artificial leg.
Sepdet skids across the floor leaving Collin and Coda room to pile in behind her, having to halt to sight down her arm and fire. She's trying to hit Tibor's skull and not Piotr, but she's not packing silver, so she just squeezes and prays. Coda has the presence of mind to slam the basement door shut as planned, then has to pause to pump the shotgun and drop in a new shell.
Gimpy pages: Is it a German accent this guy has or what? I realize Piotr hasn't got Past Life or Fetish, but the leg came from a survivor of Stalingrad and it might be nice to act as if the original owner were getting a smidge of payback.
Long distance to the room: Sepdet has a rather cavalier attitude towards non-aggravated damage.
You paged Gimpy with 'Yep. Der is definitely german. :)'.
You paged Tibor with 'Glowing red eyes and fangs? I think I'll notice that in another round and go ballistic.'.
Tibor growls as the leg tries to kick him, his hand already moving downward, so fast, so unbeleiveably fast, and rips the artificial leg right off of Lightning's leg; His other hand sinks INTO Piotr's chest and uses that leverage to pivot the massive garou like a shield to block Sepdet's shotgun blast, which blows fur and blood all over the place in an explosion from Lightning's back.
You paged the room with 'AIIIE!'.
You paged Tibor with 'Okay. Sepdet now puts two and two together. Her uncle's last apprentice was ripped apart by a Brujah right in front of her once upon a time.'.
Tibor pages: And you're dealing with a vampire who doesn't hide what he is.
He yowls, there's just no other word for it. And there's not really all that much point in trying to kick either, at this stage. Sort of looks like a nervous tic if he tries. Dammit.
From afar, to the room, Gimpy posed that, sorry, forgot the name.
Collin contorts and blurs as he is transformed.
Collin shifts into Crinos form.
Sepdet gives a sudden incoherent scream of sheer rage like a banshee on meltdown, and launches across the room at the scuffle before Piotr's blood can even hit the floor. Her shift is faster, much faster this time, and there's a madness in her eyes, not that of frenzy quite yet, but rather that of obsession.
Long distance to Tibor: Sepdet burns a rage to insta-shift in midleap so she can start rending.
Collin pages: Die leech, die. :)
Gimpy pages: Five levels damage is Major Super Owie, right?
Long distance to Gimpy: Sepdet phews. Yes. It's bad. You have 2 left but you're not dead yet.
Gimpy pages: I think I'll just lie here until my spine grows back then.
You paged Tibor with 'Tibor can take Sepdet out but luckily there is backup.'.
You paged Gimpy with 'See news health, ignoring the time it takes to heal. (That's for humans; we heal one level a day)'.
You paged Gimpy with 'You still should be able to move a bit, but you're definitely hurting bad.'.
From afar, to the room, Collin mutters. Doghell. Sorry 'bout that. I'll psoe now, if ya'll were waiting on me.
Gimpy pages: Ok, gotcha.
Foxtrot X-Ray pages: Shift
And Collin blurs as well, snarling in anger as Gimpy goes down like that. He assumes the Crinos form. Simply put, he goes for Tibor's throat.
Sepdet contorts and blurs as she is transformed.
You shift into Crinos form.
You paged Foxtrot X-Ray with 'Oops. Thanks. :)'.
Tibor growls and tosses Lightning across the room at Collin to block his charge, his countenance now twisted into something utterly and totally non human. He becomes a blur once more and slashes at Sepdet, his fingers eleoingating into bone-like knives; he takes a couple of minor slashes, but buries his own claws deep into the Strider. Blood flies everywhere, but Sepdet's wounds seem superficial at best.
Lenny pages: Psst. Create Element.
You paged Lenny with 'I wish I COULD.'.
Gimpy pages: Hm. He says I'll be back on my feet in two rounds. I'll believe him.
Coda's eyes go wide as she whirls from the basement door and brings her shotgun up to bear. Having missed the previous disastrous shot, she also takes aim, trying not to hit the maddened Sepdet.
You paged Tibor with 'I think I will frenzy now. Do you roll, or shall I just pose doing so?'.
Tibor pages: You try, but no go.
You paged Tibor with 'Heh. East Wind's children shouldn't lose control, I guess.'.
Sepdet just doesn't care. She jams her arms into Tibor's armpits, or tries to, while bringing her legs up in a disembowelling maneuver, trying to drive her back feet into his belly.
Gimpy is thrown, of course, and lands sooner or later. At that point he simply lies still, although he *is* breathing.
With a bit of frustratin, Collin's charge was ended rather abruptly by Gimpy's slamming into him. Seeing as how Tibor's positioned himself, the other Strider drops to his fours and begins looking for an opening to charge at Tibor's side, when the opportunity presents itself. He looks relatively unhappy with this from the way his lips have peeled back into a snarl.
Again, the biting and slashing exchanges between Tibor and Sepdet, garou claws against the whirling bone knives that the man's hands have become; minor cuts and abrasions slash over the two, to no real avail. Coda's shot never comes, as Tibor maneuvers the fight to keep Sepdet between him and both her and Collin.
Tibor pages to the room: All told, furious exchange of blows, no damage
From afar, to the room, Gimpy is starting to have real trouble staying awake, guys. Eastern standard time. ..
Collin pages to the room: That's okay. You're kinda injured. ;)
From afar, to the room, Tibor is, too. This next round will end things, I do think.
Sepdet's feet continue their rending and she snarls wordless curses in Tibor's face, jaws flying wide and head twisting sideways as she tries to get his throat between her jaws. Coda, swearing, shifts to crinos and wades into the fray, trying to get around to the far side to leave Collin one flank while Sepdet continues her frontal assault. Surely he can't cope with all three?
Gimpy lies there some more while the others fight. Very shortly, he thinks, it will change for the better, da?
Again, Collin's form blurs with the change as he goes down to his Lupus form, darting in to bite at Tibor's leg from the side, using the smaller size of the form to try to squeeze into the fray in an attempt to give Sepdet an advantage.
Collin contorts and blurs as he is transformed.
Collin shifts into Lupus form.
Tibor growls as he rears back with one hand; the bones fuse and lengthen into a long spike that whips out and drives through the side of Sepdet's throat, spraying him with her blood; orifices open up on his face and lap at the nourishing liquid, and the thing gives a hissing laugh. "Fools; I shall come for you later." He kicks Collin in the muzzle, breaking teeth and splintering bone even as the garou savages his leg some, and then seems to dissolve back out into the night, pulling away through the ruin of the window into the darkness beyond. The house falls quiet, save for the hissing gurgle of Sepdet's throat trying to breathe.
Tibor pages: 3 agg damage
You paged Tibor with 'Dammit! And I had such a lovely curse to say over his body. But my, I'm glad he didn't kill any of us. Thank you. :)'.
From afar, to the room, Tibor falls over. Night. :)
From afar, to the room, Collin grins. Damn it. He got away. Oh well. Now we can get a bigger posse together.
Sepdet clutches at her throat, gagging on her own blood for the second time in a week.
Gimpy struggles with whatever he's got left to lift himself up, or at least prop himself up. And just as soon as he's got speech back, he starts muttering words in Armenian that are so filthy the paint around him crinkles. (Somewhere in the profanity is hidden the sentence, 'I need bigger crossbow!'.)
You paged the room with 'Now we know what we're dealing with. That which does not kill us.'.
Gimpy pages to the room: ... causes us to rebuild our weapon in a bigger, nastier configuration that would probably work pretty nicely as a minor siege engine?
Tibor pages to the room: Please +mail Fox with any questions, comments, etc. Hope everyone had a good time tonight, and I'll see you later.
Gimpy pages to the room: Take care. I go nappy-bye now.
Tibor has disconnected.
Gimpy goes home.
Gimpy has left.
Long distance to Collin: Sepdet sighs wistfully.
Collin pages: We'll get ihm. :)
You paged Collin with 'It was such a GOOD pose. I wish I coulda done it. ;)'.
From afar, Collin laughs. You may still get the chance at some point, but now he becomes a bigger problem. :p
Collin pages: He's obviously a very powerful leech that now knows we're coming. :p
You paged Collin with 'Yeeeep.'.
Long distance to Collin: Sepdet is just not good at organizing hunts. :)
Collin pages: No. He just got home too fast and we weren't expecting a vampire.
Collin pages: Note: We still have the boy. We can still interrogate said boy. :)
Collin pages: The Chaffeur is also likely still alive. :)
You paged Collin with 'The boy doesn't know anything. Coda's nod was Truth o Gaia.'.
From afar, Collin ohs. :)
From afar, Collin wonders if he'd have time to search the study.
Collin pages: Probably not with you that injured. ;p
Collin pages: How much did Sepdet take?
You paged Collin with '3. She'll keep.'.
From afar, Collin took one agg. Mutter.
You paged Collin with 'Why don't I +mail everybody that Collin attempts to rapid-search the study and steal any incriminating material, then we bug it out of here.'.
From afar, Collin nods. Sure. Cops are likely on the way, so it'd be a VERY quick search.
You paged Collin with 'Yep.'.
The mail has been sent.
You paged Collin with 'How's that?'.
Long distance to Collin: Sepdet figures four legs will let Gimpy still run on three. And no one's gonna get a good look at lupes at this time of night if they're running fast.
From afar, Collin erms. Cops may get a good look at us in their headlights. I suggest we bolt back to the Umbra. Gimpy will be fine in about 9 or 12 seconds. He took no agg.
Collin pages: He can yank us back across, no problem.
You paged Collin with 'OH. Good point.'.
Collin pages: Remail. :) 1
