Stormcrow, Toxic, Lara-Anne, Maury, Anubis, Oaken, Thorn, Justice...just names to so many of you, but important characters to us. Here I am compiling an archive of my oldest Garou memories. Read, browse, or return to my current logs. (Note: Looking for logs from mid-March 94 to late summer 94--all of mine were lost!)
- A Day In the Life of the Early Wheel Feb. 23, 1994. My first surviving log. The night before, Horus had departed to Malfeas and a Fury pack from another caern had arrived amidst a sea of mistrust and hot tempers. Here Toxic holds an informal and productive court to figure out what to do next. (Other characters: Erik, Storm, Lilith, Ilyera, Nepthys, Oaken, Maury, Echen, Jess, Thorn, Su, Anpwhotep)
- Moot February 1994. A good example of a full moot and a summary of early plots and characters. Highlights include a fine Litany calling, some surprising challenges by familiar names, a story by a very youthful Echen, and a revel/bonding experience with the new Furies (and Lightfeather) that gave Sepdet her first of many wounds. Toxic, Batrana, Anubis, Oaken, Thorn, Arjun, Velasquez, Cindi, Stormcrow, Lara-Anne, are some of the old familiar names here.
- Bloodfang-Broken Claw Rank Challenge, 3/2/94, with a lengthy bit of caern-chitchat beforehand, including talk of Blue Sky logging site, cookie cutter dancer. Bloodfang was killed by a bane the next evening (Sepdet's second battle), and Broken Claw assumed the tribe alphaship.
- Horakthy at the Wheel, 3/3/94 . Not all that exciting. A Strider NPC and message-bearer is at the caern. There is talk about the gruesome Dancer problems. Horakthy had brought information about them, and the soul-sucking fetish, mentioned by Echen in Moot the night before. Alas, I have no log of Banestriker's Last Stand, which happned just after this!
- Walk Right In, Set Yerself Down...(3/10/94) This very brief log amazes me. A strange Get had just walked into the caern. Introductions are passed around, and voila! he's in. And Sepdet, cub, bawn-patroller? Things have changed.
- Idiots and Little Children (3/13/94) EEK! Brief log. Sepdet, exploring town, runs into a brisk man. He freaks her out. She runs to Toxic. Oh, great. It was Gah-Thkk, the Dancer with the Skull Fetish that's been mentioned in all the above logs, and he'd just killed a friend of Sepdet's she'd met the first day online.
- Renaissance: Ups 'n Downs (3/14/94) I really like this log. Sepdet is asked into Renaissance by Toxic. Later on, she and Tep go out to the caern, where she gives Jess a Tarot reading, talks to Wilhelm and sees Thoth and Hoggie. But the best part of the log is a confrontation between Lyta, Toxic, and Hecate, where Lyta has to browbeat Hecate, and Toxic has to accept the submission of the proud Fury, who happens to be more than a friend.
- GAP IN LOGS: March 15-August 4. In late Summer 1994, one of my cow orkers wiped my hard drive. It shouldn't have had logs in it, but I stayed after hours. So I'm missing all the formative events in Sepdet's cubhood. (This link dwells on Sepdet's personal history, so may be boring to some. But that's how all logs are, right? ;) However: I have somehow ended up with two logs from the "gap":
- Thoth's Fostern Challenge with Anubis (Early April 1994) Thoth speaks. Yes, that's speak, not grunt, snort, sneeze, or belch. Unusual for him. He tells a damn good tale, with heckling from Spooner and others. Meanwhile, a much meeker Diana was meeting her tribe elder, Adrian, in the background. And that's Sep's buddy Wilhelm, confined to the Wheel (the normal procedure in those days) pending investigation of his relationship with Snowdon, a caern-threatening mage.
- Sepdet's Rite of Passage: excerpt (July 1994) Sepdet, Dia, and Jess went to Alaska with Moonshadow on a mission to recover some ancient fetishes for (you guessed it!) Stormcrow. Along the way, the three cubs had a side-adventure, spending the night in an old fallen-down Haida (Native American) lodge, in which Grandmother Salmon begged for aid. I'm missing that part, and the part where we discovered a sawmill and Jess got to drive a bulldozer! But here is the grand finale, and the reason why Sepdet wears a red fish Jess carved for her.
- Darkness Falling Soul-Stealer : (fall 1994) An ancient pack's unquiet spirits possess Eligio, Sepdet, and several others, begging us to finish their work. The caern is attacked for the first time by a threat great enough to damage it. Toxic dies. (several logs here, and a summary)
- Moot December 1994. Stormcrow, Justice, Red Sky, Anubis, Eligio, are just some of the main players. An impassioned calling of the Litany with Justice, unusually, playing the part of the Fool. A disgruntled calling of the Inner Sky by Red Sky brings Wendigo itself in place of the then-unknown third totem. Anubis, as Waykeeper, breaks his customary silence for a rant. Stormcrow also makes an amusing mav.
- +finger info, gleaned at random from various logs.
