RANDOM COMICS MUSINGS
Thomas Sowell, a conservative nationally-syndicated newspaper columnist, often gets away from the responsibility of writing an entire coherent column by writing what he calls "Random Thoughts on the Passing Scene." In honor of Sowell, and my own laziness, here's some random musing on comics.

COMICS THAT TIME FORGOT
One of my favorite features in the Onion is a short weekly column called "Films That Time Forgot." Each week, the column features a short discussion about some obscure movie or another, usually detailing its faults and failures with a large dose of sarcasm thrown in. I can't explain why I like it--I just do.
Accordingly, I now present "Comics That Time Forgot," where I look at some obscure comics series--the sort of thing you see in the quarter bins or while flipping through Overstreet, and wonder what they were about Note that I choose these only on criteria that they are not popular or best-selling comics--some of these I like a lot, some of them I think are silly, but all of them took some comics creators somewhere days or weeks or months to complete--thus, to me they're worth remembering. As always, I would love to hear what people think of my selections, and especially any insight as to what the creators felt when the series came out and were not terribly popular.

If you care about continuity--and who doesn't?--take a peek at the Marvel Chronology Project. It lists the appearances of all Marvel characters in chronological order based upon the character's perspectives--it's also a great way to track down issues you may be missing.
