Intensity
Today in my mind I walked the beach
leaving footprints in the sand
after the snowstorm
watched the high tide
waited for the calmness of the sea
a rare event
the winds never let up
low tide was a brief moment
that I enjoyed
but the sea will always be the sea
unexpected adventures
if you could
would you
want to try and tame the sea
or could you
simply just accept
Lighting the Dark
The dripless candle
seems void of emotion
I replace it with one
where I can see and feel
the ridges that slowly form
as the hot wax cools
showing substance that
can break away at a touch
a form of reality that is not
neat, clean or without imagination
but like the air we breathe
surrounds me to no end
the only choice I have
is the lingering scent
In That Moment
Somedays I enjoy the sunlight
others I long for that midnight cool
always I feel the intensity
wondering how others live
without it
Lost Art
Thin whispers of light
following shadows
streaks of moonlight
where paint brushes end
in a corner of the canvas
a mind watches, waiting
as time stretches in the darkness
thoughts become too loud
colours invade the stillness
mixing shades of black and white
into the lost art of grey
