Enter the Light
My face is taut with pain
As I continue to rack my brain.
To mend my wounds and make me sane;
It's an uphill battle as I wax and wane.
I see the end is near.
The past is full of hurtful memories;
The weather was rough with constant flurries.
To see the future just seems so blurry
Amidst the sorrow rages on the fury.
I see the end is near.
Why must life start this way?
Does joy and love never stay?
When all is lost I am left to pray
To rid the past and begin a new day.
I see the end is near.
I deal with the past and all my fear;
I learn what's important and hold it dear.
The sun is shining and now it's clear
I'm a new person, I shed a new tear:
For now I see the end is near.Two Separate Souls
I see you looking under your grease-stained hat
wondering what I'd be like with the covers off.
A part of your family tree.
It never will or can be
for we're two separate souls.
Your skin tingles with a brush of my hand.
Desire turns to lust to love then to hate.
The image is shattered;
heart and mind tattered
for we're two separate souls.
Acceptance is not something you can do.
Profanity and anger is more akin to you.
How quickly love turns to hate
When you learn I'm not your mate.
Two separate souls
at the ends of divided poles.
You play the game and of me you do mock.
Your ego now tainted that you cover with talk.
No words can erase what nature has created.
With forgiveness and understanding ignorance abated
for we're two separate souls.
Acceptance is not something you can do.
Profanity and anger is more akin to you.
How quickly love turns to hate
When you learn I'm not your mate.
Two separate souls
at the ends of divided poles.
Change is a long time coming and my heart still aches.
When will the moment come when the tears don't create
lakes?
We have to try or we'll all pay.
Don't erase our souls; don't take away
