Taking photos using the digital camera for the web site

Deciding what they will research on - whales, sea otters and tide pools
Watching a short video about whales
Making a chart of popular marine animals collected from their host families on computer

Day 3 - July 22nd

Internet, introduction to email

Computer Skills
Opening what you saved
Revising the self-introduction using spell check, highlighting the text, cut and paste, delete, move
Getting online - connecting to internet, obtain their own email account through yahoo
Search engine - yahoo, lycos, excite, etc.

Marine Life
Go to web sites about whales, sea otters and tide pools

Day 4 - July 23rd

Developing web page, research on marine animals

Computer Skills
Editing and finishing the self- introduction page - choosing, saving, and applying a background from a web site
Research on marine animals using given web sites and books - find answers to specific questions such as:

where they live, what kind there are, what they eat, how big they are, how people have interacted with them, etc.
Typing and saving the research findings in Adobe PageMill

Continue the research on marine animals

Day 5 - July 26th

Developing web page, research on marine animals, getting an email account

Cutting and pasting important information from a web site into their page with an appropriate citation
Rating the sites you found using search engines
