- A syllogism that contains a disjunction is a disjunctive syllogism
- For example,
Either the sun is shining or the birds are singing The sun is not shining |
Therefore, the birds are singing |
- Hypothetical Syllogisms
- if ... then ... statements are hypothetical
- A syllogism that contains a hypothetical is a hypothetical syllogism
- For example,
If the sun is shining then the birds are singing The sun is in fact shining |
Therefore, the birds must be singing |
