On Sunday 11th
January 2004 the new kids club kicked off to a great start! 29 children, aged between 5 and 12, enjoyed
an action-packed hour of fun, games, songs, and prizes in the village Scout
Hut. About 20-30 children have come
each fortnight and are really enjoying the club. (Parents have enjoyed the
break too!)
And on Sunday 9th
January 2005 twenty-five children celebrated SClub’s
1st birthday!!
As the children arrive
about 10:45 at the Scout Hut they can make use of the games (including table footie, air
hockey, & table tennis) and craft activities we have put out. We then get the session going at 11:00 with
a welcome slot and share a few jokes.
We move on to a birthday slot, some songs,
a team game, a fun
item, a short interactive Bible teaching
session, a quiz, a few prayers, another game
and if time permits, a final song. Then wash it all down with a drink and
biscuit – and more games until 12:15!
The older children
(aged 10 and above) leave the others at about 11:15 for their own club called
‘Impact’, which has included juggling and puppeteering
workshops!! (Impact also has its own fun Club
Night on a Saturday evening once a month.)
In the summer term we
have games outside on the lawn, and one
day we have a BBQ afterwards for all the family, together with various
competitions: croquet, boules, quoits, and an obstacle course! There is also a massive parachute for other games!
