How Nastrander got his Name

Nick names often have a history, some reason behind the bizarre...

Here's the story of Nastrander.

Once upon a time, there was a fellow, who used to visit mIRC. His first choice for a nick was Blondie, because that is what he called his webpage. But, there were too many blondies around. He could never get the use of it, and when he did, he constantly got messaged from guys looking for a blonde female.

So, for a while he went with knowitall, Butt soon he got tired of that too. He decided to use the name of a new website he had created... and thus, Anticom made his appearance on irc.

Soon after, romance entered his life. He met someone on line who went by the nick of _blazer_. They used to chat online for hours and hours. _blazer_ brought Anticom into her regualar chat channel #!!!!Chat_City. This channel was ruled by a person called att341. When the evil att341 found out that _blazer_ and Anticom had met in person, she banished them from the channel.

Never backing down from a fight, Anticom plotted his revenge. He created a new identity, ^_Loki_^, Norse god of mischief and mayhem. He also created an irc clone: _Fenris_, his trusty wolf. _blazer_ adopted the nick Nastrand, and they hung out in a channel of the same name.

They picked Nastrand because it was an interesting, but obscure name out of Norse Mythology, to go with the more well known Loki and Fenris. Their first choice was Nastrander (a person, rather than a place), but that nick was too long for irc. At the same time, they set up nastrander@hotmail.com as the e-mail address for the irc login.

^_Loki_^ Fenris and Nastrand waited and plotted, and one day took control of the channel from the evil att341.

The battle continued off and on.... eventually, _blazer_ and Anticom created a parody page of the chat channel, supposedly created by att341. They even opened a new hotmail account att341@hotmail.com to complete their deception.

Eventually, _blazer_ and Anticom got tired of these games, and dumped the webpage and left the chats for good. Anticom kept the hotmail account and used it on his webpage Niagara Freedom Web for a while.

Sometime after, Anticom discovered yahoo games. All the nicks he tried were already taken, so he decided to try Nastrander. It was available, and so, the old nick was resurrected...

There are many interesting nicks out there, Perhaps there is a history and a reason to them after all....
