Blood Bowl is a boardgame version of fantasy football (really rugby). Players are the coach of a team of players from one of several different races. Players run, pass, block and foul each other in an attempt to win. Usually this means scoring, but it may mean clearing the opposing team from the field.

The rules are very elegant. The teams are generally well balanced. IMHO star players spoil the game and should not be used. Essentially they give strong players to weak teams and not much to strong teams. This means that the Skaven and Wood Elves have every type of player. The strongest dwarf star player (ignore the steam roller, it is too vulnerable and gets thrown out) is strength 4.

The game is well supported by game stores, so you can go to them and find opponents and leagues.
