Hello, Fellow Capitalists!
It's just about that time!
We're just finishing preparations for Sunday. The weather should
cooperate - the rain'll be gone, and though it won't be too sunny (cloudy
& 50 degrees), at least it should be dry! The banner we'll have is
finished (see it at the bottom of the home page, http://d2detroit.com).
And I'm looking forward to meeting you all there!
Timing-wise, we're still on the original plan:
On December 2, 2001 (Capitalism Day!), we're meeting in the food court
area ("downstairs") of the Renaissance Center (in front on the
Arby's/McDonald's/Zoups/Etc.). Official meeting time is 11:00 a.m. - we'll
start gathering at 10:30 a.m. Come early if you'd like to snack/breakfast.
We'll leave at 11:15 (11:30 if there appear to be a lot of stragglers -
Capitalists are busy people!) and walk upstairs to the Jefferson Avenue
entrance, left (west) to the west street access, then down Jefferson to
Woodward Avenue. A quick right, then left on Larned Street. Then to the
Pontchartrain Hotel for lunch. They've been warned to expect 20-25 of us!
Afterward, west to pass Cobo Arena, back down Jefferson to Hart Plaza for
speakers and the presentation of the Capitalism award. We're still
considering the possibility of after-walk activities.
I'd appreciate hearing back from you all when you receive this
message, to confirm that your plans haven't changed! Just reply to this
message, or call me if you like!
I look forward to seeing you all Sunday Morning!
Happy Capitalism Day 2001 - Let's Walk!
