Bad Religion

Okay, now, let's admit it. Religion is just about the most important
thing that people think about. Sooner or later, every worthy person
sits down to think about the big questions.
Why am I here?
What Should I do?
What happens when I die?
I suspect that the first being on earth who asked these questions had
not even evolved into what today we would call human.
The problem is that many people have come up with some appalling answers,
especially for the second questions. Today, when you consider such
wretched examples of religion as Jerry Falwell, and the Taliban, it's enough
to turn you atheist.
Surely, we can figure out some way to make sure that religion remains
a search for meaning, and not just another excuse to kill each other? After
all, I don't want to be an atheist.
So, in that spirit, let's talk religion:
