Deir Janine 2
The village is built with volcanic rocks, like most of the Akkar villages. But in Deir Janine, there's also limestone cropping on the eastern part, in the valley and on the ohter side of the river. That's the reason for the rich biodiversity in our region, which we have to preserve.
Deir Janine is also located on birds migrating path. Eagles, hawks and falcons, as well as pelicans, storks and other water birds and passerine cross our sky twice a year. Unfortunately ignorant people find it an opportunity to kill as many as they can of these magnificent visitors, while in the fact it is a unique occasion to watch them and admire their mysterious and endless traveling ballet.
A small damm built by villagers to redirect a part of the Oustouan waters, into their fields. This is the most enchanting place i've ever seen on Earth. All what u can see is green leaves of different trees, and a small window above showing a blue sky.
A dragonfly, resting in the sun.
A field of flowers.
A red Anemona.
