Deir Janine
Located in the Akkar district, 13km to the North from Halba city, and 40 km from Tripoli.
It's my village, Deir Janine.
Peaceful and still a litle bit wild. Unfortunately, people are starting to kill its natural charm by foolishly implating concrete everywhere, poluting water, air, and sight, and severely damaging wild life by extreme fishing and hunting.
The river El Oustouan, crosses through the greenfields of DeirJanine valley.
Enjoy some of the photos I made, as these sites may not last for long.
Part of the upper village, with in the back, on the other side of the valley, the village of Beino and the mountains of Akkar.
the ancient part of the village, built around the old Church.
An old bridge on the Oustouan river. I'm the one on the left behind two of my best friends: Khalil on the right, Bob on the left.
The old sanctuary of Mar Chalita, restored recently. The type of Crosses carved on its big stones date from around 400AD.
