Three reasons really.
Genealogy is my hobby. I have seen numerous questions in newsgroups and lists about books for Irish Genealogy. Where to buy them? Which book has certain information? Does anyone have a book who could look something up? It seemed there was a need for a site such as this.
If there is a need, maybe I can help and make a little money at the same time. (The key word seems to be "little"!)
Amazon books has just about everything in print and even tries to get out-of-print titles so the association seemed ideal. They do the hard work of maintaining stock and filling orders while I do the easy stuff like sharing my opinion.
