Thank you for choosing Thoughts in Solitude by Thomas Merton.
Father Merton was an American Trappist monk and contemplative
who has been perhaps the single greatest comtemporary
influence on contemplative spirituality.
He was a devout Roman Catholic who reached out to other faiths
while going deeply into his own, and managed to make
accessible to a wide readership the joys and meaning of
the solitary life.
"Father Louis" died in 1968 from a tragic accident while attending
a monastic conference in Bangkok.
