Here, on these shifting and wind-swept blue sands,
we have founded a place where one can think a bit more, or a bit less.

The Blue Monastery.

Here, we are interested in exploring the workings of:
Poetry, Comparative Religion, Solitude, and Community.
Our vision is informed by many and widely varied encounters,
to mirror the physical world; thus, we acknowledge those such as
Dogen, Wagner, Basho, Merton, Whitehead, Kerouac, Liszt,
Ginsberg, Rilke, Blake, Wordsworth, Palestrina,
Dante,
and G.M. Hopkins as sources--albeit
only a few of the many--who bring us beauty and challenge
from our past, as well as the modern masters
such as Hovhaness, Gorecki, Neruda,
John Micheal Talbot, Nhat Hanh, Exis,
Ricoeur, Kung,
and Alice Walker
as well as the late Michael Hedges ,
who present us with moments of wonder in a life full of light.

While we see suffering around us,
we affirm these possibilities for all people
in spite of the suffering--

PEACE, MINDFULNESS, SPACE.

All are welcome.

This page of the new consciousness, the electronic ocean,
will be devoted to ideas, space, and devotion.
We will not clutter it with things that distract, if at all possible.
Naturally, the patronage system exists even here,
in the ocean of space,
and so in order to reach out to you it is necessary to
rely on outside forces (ie: advertising.)
But to a minimum, please.
We are not interested in polemic, nor does
one's age or circumstances affect one's standing
in the open emptiness of the monastery.

This is an INTELLECTUAL FREE ZONE --

Imagination, suspension of belief,
and yet absolute incredulity
are of greatest import, and you will be welcome.
And, perhaps blessed.

Here, our desire is that you will find no facile New Age vapidity.
While we embrace that reality is proleptic --that is, God is indeed drawing
all of reality into the end that is very God--we reject
the empty syncretism that so characterizes
much of today's spiritual discourse.
Nevertheless, as an intellectual free zone
we always entertain ideas, if presented as ideas. But all in all,
this is certainly not a place for argument.

Space, the vastness of the electronic skyline:
this is not condusive to violence.

Bring what you will to the monastery, we do not check your bags at the door.
But please, be willing to see what was here before you arrived ,
and don't EVER lock your own door.
Ideas will never be held by keys and walls, anyway.

Grace and Peace to you in the name of Jesus ,
our Lord and our Master in the Dance of Creation, co-Creation, and rest.
Soften your edges, and smile.

Please enjoy your stay, and come back soon and visit.
