Today's Glimpse...

"The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue,
to know the word that sustains the weary."
Isaiah 50:4a

This prophetic statement about Jesus really stood out to me today. The promise is that he would be qualified by God to speak, that he would be eloquent in his ability to communicate and that the things he had to say would comfort and strengthen the weary. I have long marvelled at the power of God's Word - how I can sit down to read at a time when my heart is heavy and hurting and that the scriptures do indeed soothe me. When I think I can't be strong anymore or stay in the battle, I will read scriptures that talk about God, about his promises or his love and I can feel my heart and my soul being strengthened. I know that something supernatural has happened, It's not that I am getting hyped but I can feel myself being strengthened by something outside myself and I know God is at work.

"Come to me all you who are weary an burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 28:28-30
