St. John Lateran: built in 330 a.d. in honor of both St. John the Baptist and St. John the Apostle. It houses Pilot's Staircase, which Jesus ascended and descended when he was scourged and tried. It was brought from Jerusalem to Rome in the fourth century by Constantine's Mother
