Tassach

Halflings are not native to Dathenest, unless you count the tassach, and that's not a bad idea. Tassach are smaller than average humans, and they are linked with the earth as are the hin of the Realms and other worlds. The tassach are farmers and bakers, herdsmen and breeders. They love food, as do halflings, and they are experts when it comes to cultivating, preparing, and eating it. Adventurous tassach tend to become rangers, druids, and clerics of earth powers.

Racial Traits

• –2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, –2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom.
• Small size— speed 20. As small creatures, tassach gain a +1 size bonus to AC, and a +4 size bonus on Hide checks, but they must use smaller weapons than humans use, and their lifting and carrying limits are ¾ of those of Medium–size characters.
• +4 racial bonus to Animal Empathy, Handle Animal, and Wilderness Lore checks. These skills are class skills for all tassach characters.
• Automatic Languages: Archanten (trade tongue), Talehn (Tassach tongue).
• Favored Class: Druid.
