Something about that Old Burned Steeple... |

As you remember, I did a story on my church the month after it burned down leaving only the steeple and the pulpit burnt but not damage in any structual form. I have alot of time to stop and write a kind of poem or prose about the steeple because I find it a sort of symbol of how we Christians should take problems in life. |

Their is something about that old burnt steeple as I was watching the building that held it be consumed by this fire that was slowly started to eat away the roof drawing closer and closer to the steeple, but that old steeple stood in defiants of the fire. The fire, now completly consuming the building started to reach the top of the steeple, "It looks as if the steeple is going to fall with that heat," someone shouted. It was at that time the fire grew even more intense with the heat, hot enough to melt steal and iron on the building. Yet the steeple stood, fire fighters were puzzle as to why it stood that heat. It was almost as if a million of God's angels were defending that steeple for some future purpose. To this day no one can understand how or even why it remains, but their is something about that old burnt steeple standing for all to see. For me its a symbol of God's love for us all and how everything works in furtherance of his master plan for us all. It also shows that even in the hardest times of our lives we should NEVER fall even as everthing around us is distroyed we should never give up the fight for Jesus Christ and his fathers' plan for us. |
