Hawaii, an archipelago in the Central Pacific, is the newest of the 50 states of the United States. The Island of Hawaii is the largest, but it is not the most visited by tourists. It is the Island of Oahu which attracts millions of visitors from all the world. Honolulu, the state capital, is located on Oahu. The Hawaiian main islands are: Kauai (theGarden Island), Molokai (the Friendly Island), Lanai (the Pineapple Island), Maui (the Valley Island) and Oahu (the Gathering Place Island) - they are named according to their characteristics.

The island of Oahu has many attractions. A person can take a walk on the Waikiki Beach area and see the imposing Diamond Head, the walls of an extinct volcano. Catamarans of tourists, colorful sailboats, surfboards for rent, and visitors from different countries compose the routine of Waikiki. Its nightlife is also exciting, there are shows, restaurants, stores and "luaus". The Waimea Bay waves attract surfers from all over the world. The Polynesian Culture Center is also a tourist attraction. Its program includes traditional songs , dances and costumes.

The notable Hawaiian sunset finishes the day beautifully. It is an invitation to reflect upon the solitude of the archipelago.
