Tears of the Sea
by Bearurr

If distance makes the heart grow fonder,
Then this heart is for thee.
If pain can make one stronger,
Then this heart is for thee.
All that is mine is lost within the sea that parts us.
All that I need is beyond this feeble reach.

I long for thee, through the daunting distance.
I spy thy spirit through the mist of pain that swirls before me.
Yet like a receeding tide, thee withdraws from mine shores,
leaving only the salty drops of memories as an anchor in this sea of despair.

If love has no bound,
Then thee have all of me.
If the body can function without a heart,
Then thee have all of me.
While a silent tear falls from this soul,
I wait.
While a cry of pain is bled from this heart,
I work.
From this island of isolation I toil,
yearning for our halves to unite.

In my dreams I see the future:
A time when the clouds clear from this limited horizon.
A time these chains free me, and I may fly to thee.
So I shall work, waiting for my release,
And meet thee in my dreams, finding peace.
