PLEASE TAKE NOTICE of further billing for my work as your Law Clerk, beginnining in May of 1996, when Boalt Hall Law School closing the Law Library resulted in our agreement, quantum meruit, for my expected services duly rendered until the beginning of 1997, when Boalt reopened its Library. As you’ve noted from our conversations leading to our deal, your being innundated with six and later several other criminal appeals from the California Appellate Project not only created "60 hour work weeks" (9 A.M. to 9 P.M.) for both of us during that time but too an initially expected income of $40,000. As during that time I easily averaged twenty hours a week in direct research time at the Alameda County law Library--as well-witnessed--in excess of 300 hours, not including such other work for yourself as proofreading, editing, service and filing, as well as printing and mailing errands, a reasonable expectation , at 10 dollars and hour, of $3,000, has been generated. Please pay by certified mail, copy to my attorney, before our small claims court date of 1/14/97. [now 8/24/98]

Best,
