The group was born at the same time as the association. It's one of its main pillars and its function is to spread the touch of the drum and the bass drum. It was created to represent our city in many competitions and exaltations, which take part in and out of our province.
Thanked to it, the quality of the touches has greatly improved in our town, which has been recognized many times, having received a lot of prizes wherever we have played.

For those who aren't introduced into the world of the drum, a "cuadrilla" is only a group, mada up of fifteen or twenty people who usually or sometimes meet to play the drum and the bass drum.
In our cases that group is quite singular, because it's made up of members of almost all the brotherhoods from Teruel.
It's always in charge of representing us in all kind of competitions, exaltations, folklore festivals. (We'll detail these activities later on).
Along the years, our "cuadrilla" hasn't stopped improving and getting better in its touches, and in the quality of its sound. In this way, we have reached what is known by everybody who plays the drum as "the style of Teruel".
This style consists on a very fast touch, and the important presence of the bass drum, with its counterattacks and "titragolpes". Therefore, the bass drum becomes an instrument with the same importance as the drum, and not only an accompanist.

They are one of our regular performances every year. The mos important one is celebrated in Hijar, a village from Teruel, where lots of groups meet each other to get the triumph.
We have won three times (including the last one). Wich is a very difficult success to beat, looking at our short history.
There are also more competitions in Ejea de los Caballeros, the brook of Ebro...
The competitions are a good opportunity to see the evolutions in the touches, improvements of the different groups... and also to know and get in touch with the world of the drum.

The national days of exaltation of the drum and the bass drum were born to join people around the same interest: the drum.
Every year, these days take place in a different Spanish place, where it's traditional to play the drum at Easter.

There, you can see the diversity of traditions around the drum and its varieties, which change depending on the geographic situation.
In 1993, the ACCDJ organized those days and it's the official representative ov our city since its first performance there in 1990.
There are many exaltations when Easter is close and the house of the drum don't hesitate to take part in some of them every year.
The most important ones are in La Puebla de Híjar, Calatayud... lots of people go there, because they can find very recent groups, with less years of activity or less improvement in the touches, although other groups with years, even centuries, of tradition, meet there, too.
One of the vafourite activities of the ACCDJ is to take part in folklore festivals, Burgos, Alcalá de la Selva, Teruel... having received greats ovations and official recognition.
Our style of playing is quite spectacular to opening or closing ceremonies, being also valid to all kind of performances on a stage or in a passacaglia.
If you want us to play in the folklore festival of your city, please contact us (e-mail) and we'll give you more detailed information about those performances. We can also give you videotapes, photographic material and all you want to increase your knowledges about us.
Another facet of our activities is to rely on a crafts workshop where we make replicas of our instruments and things related to them, like drumsticks. Everything reflected in the quality and good taste of the products.

Through the crafts workshop we get in touch with the world of the medieval markets in different ways, as demonstrations of crafts and live performances with kettledrums, recreating the Middle Ages.
We are pleased to have collaborated with the group of animation and medieval recreation Albishara in the initiative of Isabel's wedding, which turned Teruel into a medieval town for a weekend.
