History of the Association:

It was in 1987 when a group of young people keen on the world of the drum and the bass drum, created what today is known as cultural association "House of the Drum and the Bass Drum". Since 1980, those youngsters went to contests of drums and bass drums, celebrated in our region at Easter; and maybe, the association came into being as a result of those contests.

Since 1990, this association oficially represents the town of Teruel in the "National Days of the exaltation of the drum and the bass drum", celebrated every year in a Spanish town with tradition in playing those instruments. In 1993, the "House of the Drum" from Teruel organized them.

 

 

From the beginning, the House of the Drum has kept faithful to its statutes, as for "promotion and spreading/difussion of playing the drum and the bass drum", objetives achieved through the school of the drum and the rest of its activities.

 

Therefore, we can certainly assure that since the 80's, the peak of playing the drum and the foundation of the house of the drum have caused the spectacular change al Easter in Teruel nowadays, passing from being a religious celebration to a mass phenomenon, that becomes rooted with more and more strength in the hearth of the city and all its inhabitants.
