- Descovering
Your Animal Totem(s)
Lesson 2 -
Demo
-
-
- I hope that lesson 1 has proven to
be helpful in understanding yourself better. The next
step to self understanding is to "Know Your Animal
Totems" what they are and how they relate to you and
your environment. I understand that several of you
might already know your animal totem and that is
alight, but please try this lesson, you might find
more understanding even another animal totem. This
lesson is relatively easier then the first, but by no
means any less important to know and
learn.
-
- Begin the process of discovering
your animal totems by examining the animals you have
been most interested in and the times of your life
that interest was peaked. Use the following questions
to help determine which animals are probably totems to
you in your life.
-
- 1. Which animal or bird has
always fascinated you?
- I have always been fascinated with
the wolf, panther, Eagle, Falcon, Cheeta, and
snake.
-
- 2. When you visit the zoo,
which animal do you wish to visit the most or
first?
- When I go to a zoo, which isn't
much. I usually tend to go to the Wolf enclosure
first, then on the the giant cats, then to the birds
and reptiles.
-
- 3. What animal(s) do you see
most frequently when you are out in
nature?
- When I am out I tend to see crows,
domestic cats, domestic dogs, blue jays, squirrels,
mice, chipmunks, Canadian Geese, Mallards, Deer, fox
and other animals.
-
- Have you had encounters with
animals in the wild?
- Yes, I have quite frequently,
since I live near wet lands and a forest.
-
- 4. Of all the animals in the
world, which are you most interested in
now?
- At this time I am greatly
interested in the Wolf and in the Cougar.
-
- 5. What animal most
frightens you?
- At this point in time, I've not
come across an animal that does frighten me. To me all
animals are connected to myself thus there is nothing
to be frightned about.
-
- 6. Have you ever been bitten or
attacked by an animal?
- Yes I have been attacked by two
animals, both were domestic dogs, one was a pit bull
another a Standard Schnauzer. I hold neither breed in
fault, but the dog's owner who had no control over
their pet at that point in time.
-
- 7. Do you have dreams with
animals in them or are there animal dreams you have
never forgotten?
- I have had several dreams about
animals, my most common one is of running with a wolf
pack. I have had the pack dream since I was very
young, and it has always comforted me when I was
feeling scared or out of place. Another animal dream I
have had is me hunting in the forest, in various
animal forms, from a leapord to wolf to panther to
falcon.
-
-
- Answer all of these questions
truthfully. Once answered, go looking on the internet
for information on your various animals or animal.
Gather the information, and see what it
says.
-
- 1. Does any of the information
help?
- Much of the info that I found on
the wolf, eagle, and other was rather helpful in
guiding me to my totem animal.
-
- 2. What are your thoughts about
what you have just learned about this
animal?
- I have learned that these totem
animals are teacher's and that I have always in some
form or another taught others. It is comforting to
know that my animal totems are teachers.
-
- 3. Do any of the qualities
apply to yourself, if so what? If not explain?
- 4. Give some information on
your totem animals.
-
-
- Last and not least, tell what you
have learned from doing Lesson 1.
-
- 1. What are your feelings
regarding the information that you
gathered?
- At first I did not like what I was
asked to do, I found the instruction rather lacking in
depth and understanding of what was expected. But once
I found the information that was required I found the
lesson to be helpful.
-
- 2. Was the information
of any help?
- Yes once it was gathered, I found
much of it to be helpful. However, much of the info
appeared not to really suit me in many respects. But
on the whole it was helpful and full of valued
insight.
-
- 3. Did you learn anything new
about yourself?
- I learn something new about myself
everyday. This lesson showed me what I knew, but
really wasn't interested in acknoledging to myself in
many respects.
-
- 4. How accurate was the
information you found?
- It's acurate to a point, but the
info on my astrological sign I still feel to be not
correct. However parts of the info sounded true
enough. On the whole the info was good and I learned
much.
