Lots of animal groups are just called "herds." You can have a herd of cows, elephants, or buffalo. But, just like birds, some animals have special group names!

Lions live together in family groups called "prides." The female, or lioness, does all the hunting. Males are too big to hunt successfully, so they defend the family against threats. | ![]() |
