Where it all began... Our little Borg certainly has changed in recent months. As has our captain.
In case anyone had failed to notice, I would like to now point out my obsession with "The Killing Game." This episode is absolutely crammed with beautiful shots, spotlights on our lovely couple, and, as a bonus, subtext, subtext, subtext! *sigh*
After a long hard day of saving the Universe and getting Voyager a little closer to home, there's nothing the Captain enjoys more than a fun game of velocity with her favorite Borg - who happens to be wearing that killer-sexy workout outfit.
See that wistful look and Seven's face as she turns away from Janeway? *sigh* 'If only I weren't so shy (on the inside). If only she wasn't the Captain. If only Paramount could deal with a same-sex relationship.'
As our two heroes prepare for eternity (well, in theory, anyway) they share a panicky but resigned moment. Together. Will Seven die happy knowing her last sight will be Janeway's noble visage? As if there could be any doubt.
Some of the many conferences between our capitaine and our Borg (and the Doctor). You know what they say: "Communication, while nice on a starship, is critical in a relationship."
And now, ladies and gentlemen, I shall attempt to discredit J/C'ers with these two photographs. Actions speak louder than words, right? Well, in the first picture, Seven confronts a crewmember (I think it's Neelix), while Janeway looks on, ignoring Tom and...Chuckles. Of course our first officer still gazes toward the Captain. He loves her, she loves the other, the other is confused - it's that whole chain-link thing. (I had to say it, Vivi, I just had to.) And in the second picture? Seven inconspicuously edges between Janeway and Chakotay. I guess the Borg also enhance that protective instinct.
Ah, perhaps there is no subtext in this picture. Perhaps nothing can be determined from the way Janeway and Seven are near each other. Perhaps I am but a fool. I really don't see how that is possible, but perhaps.
Lessons in humanity: the Captain teaches the Borg about art, the Captain teaches the Borg about appreciation, the Captain teaches the Borg about beauty. Or is it the Borg who teaches the Captain beauty? Can they teach each other love?
