Down One Level

Documents are the next lower level in the Mythology Burrow. For now, we've setup the following Documents:

Hebrew Goddesses: An Introduction

This document offers you an introduction to the female deities worshipped by the Hebrews.

Hebrew Goddesses: Asherah

Known by several names, Asherah was worshipped in the groves and was a difficult goddess to eradicate from the Hebrew pantheon. Part of the reason is that she's perhaps the earliest female deity worshipped by the Children of Israel.

Hebrew Goddesses: Ashtoreth

Ashtoreth, as she's known in the Bible, is the daughter of Asherah. She goes by many names in other cultures, including Astarte and Anath.

Have a pleasant day!
