On February 22.1952 North Korea, and on February 24 the People's Republic of China accused the US of waging biological warfare by dropping from the air vectors (carriers) of germs of infectious diseases.

The US representatives at the United Nations asked for independent investigation by the International Red Cross. This was refused and the IRC was called "a tool of American aggression." The Conference of IRC in Toronto in the summer of 1952 suggested to arrange a Special Commission with Safe Conduct from the UN and North Korea to investigate the allegations, This also was refused.

The General Secretary of the UN, Trygve Lie in response to Communist claims of epidemics of infectious diseases offered assistance of World Health Organization. This was refused and WHO was called "a spy organization".

The Communist bloc organized their own Commissions. The Chinese Commission was available for inspection throughout the whole period of the alleged "bacterial attacks". The International Scientific Commission arrived in Korea at the end of June 1952. They had information from the Chinese Commission and investigated witnesses. Both Commissions were friendly towards Communist ideology and both Commissions declared that America was guilty.

As recently as in 1992 a prominent American historian, John E.van Courtland Moon published a paper about the case of biological warfare in Korea in the Annales of the New York Academy of Science volume 666, page 53 in which he wrote:"The historians can only speculate why an outside investigation was not allowed to Korea and China.

In 1995 I have published in Miltary Medicine volume 160 page 97 a paper disputing the allegations of biolgical warfare in Korea. I mentioned in the paper information from two journalists :Tibor Meray from Hungary and Lucjan Pracki from Poland who were in Korea from August 1951 until September 1952.

New lead to the mystery of biological warfare.
