BLANKET OF LOVE
A small child creeps
Down the dark and chilly hall
Silently entering a quiet room
Sliding in bed where another sleeps
Tapping gently with trembling hands
Voice quivering
The howling wind awakened him
He knows you'll understand
Strong arms pull the child close
Hugging him tenderly
A faint and familiar lullaby sung
Soon fear just a fading ghost
Slowly a parent walks the hall
Placing the child in his own bed
A hand to brush the brow and tuck the covers
The simplicity of love has no flaw
