Autumn Evening

Autumn kisses the air
and orange and crimson
echo in the sunset
Golden blossoms of tansy
lure birds for one last banquet
A sudden swell of leaves
followed by joyful shouts
startle the feasting birds
and send the squirrels scampering
Slowly evening settles
and rosy cheeked children
bid fond farewells.
