Sunday Morning Worship
|
Sunday Worship at the Parsippany United Methodist Church begins at 10:30am (July and August: 10:00). Our worship is characterized by a sense of joy as we experience together the reality of God's presence in our lives and the kindness of Jesus Christ. The vitality of our worship is expressed in our richly blessed music ministry: |
The Adult Choir,
led by Barbara Bradley our music director, rehearses at 7:45pm on
Thursdays and performs weekly in worship.
The Bell Choir under the leadership of Jim Cochrane. The Bell Choir rehearses Thursdays at 6:45pm, and is open to all ages: beginners as well as seasoned veterans. The Parsippany UMC Orchestra, under the direction of Jim Cochrane, consists of trumpets, clarinets, flutes and trombones, etc. The orchestra rehearses each Sunday morning, either before or after worship. One-Achord, a talented six person acapella singing group perform once a month during worship. Reconstruction, our praise band, offers their original contemporary sound to our worship once a month.

The sacrament of Holy Communion
is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month and everyone, including
children are welcome
to share in this celebration. Coffee Hour, a casual time to be with
one another in friendship follows worship at approximately 11:30am, for
those who wish to stay.
Audiotapes are made of every worship service. The tapes are available in the office for people to borrow.

Over the past eight years our worship attendance has been steadily growing. Consequently, we have been led by God to develop plans for a NEW SANCTUARY that will be constructed within the coming year of 2002. The new air conditioned sanctuary will provide seating for an additional 48 people and is designed to express our basic conviction that our congregation is a circle knit together by a common center in Christ. It's a circle that embraces a broad diversity of persons, and as we're fond of saying on Sunday morning: "There's always room in the Circle!" |
