Jake, you are saying that these "Super-proteins" were recently discovered (can you give the reference?), and that the discoverer postulates that because of their special structure they are responsible for Emergents such as intuition, new ideas etc.

Mike, I said that they were recently 'unearthed.' Very seriously, I was careful, avoiding losing my credibility. I got that idea suddenly, so it really was 'dug' from somewhere in my --non repressed-- unconscious. However, not having been there as a factual memory (a coprot), it had to be an intuition. This intuition was actually about intuition itself!
I was talking to you about levels... Immediately I corrected the 'digger' by saying, no, it is first a 'second level' coprot. Because also suddenly, I realized that I had entered the realm of mysticism, of the Kabala. So that was it: The 'spheres' and 'worlds' are the 'Super-proteins'! Some people have a sort of instinctive knowledge of this phenomenon, eerie, strange, mysterious, like a seven-veil sensuous dancer. Our whole body and our innermost self are aroused, when in contact with such 'super-reality'! It is 'mystical'... but, it is all physics, it is in the atoms, in the electromagnetic configuration of those molecules. If there is a MM, he placed Himself there...in those Super-proteins...
Why look for Him somewhere else? The Blue Bird, Mike, you are looking for the Blue Bird, and it is in your own yard!

So, according to this materialistic picture, some Super-coprot-feprot molecules are ensconced somewhere in the brain, and suddenly, wow! "Eureka!": Here comes a new idea...

The Super-proteins are the repository of memories --cognitive and affective-- now at a more complex stage. They are Emergents, created by an interaction of lower-level units. Because of their highly electromagnetic and flexible structure, they are very reactive, being able to act in trillionths of second. We must be able to understand that electromagnetic energy is at the core of ALL activity in living organisms. What we see, hear, feel, is the final result of billions of electrical phenomena per second, which for us are translated into every manifestation of what we call consciousness. {I am extrapolating from recent discoveries on the activity of certain enzymes, and also on the well known impressive calculating speed of super-computers.}
It is the difficulty of understanding these facts what creates the illusion of supernatural entities.

Now, "who" triggers this sudden activity? Is there another Super-super molecule, on top of which another one and so on and so forth?

Yes, there are several levels of complexity. Not everybody is endowed with the capability of attaining the highest levels of comprehension; also, persistence in the quest for understanding is a sine qua non to that end. A philosopher of science (Lewes) --to explain evolution-- introduced the principle of EMERGENCE in mid-18th century. Many thinkers developed it, yet it did not reach a prominent place to explain many phenomena. I find it as being the only principle to illuminate many developments in the area of change toward entirely new realities. It explains complexity, those natural --and also man-made-- events that are entirely new, unexpected, which add a new twist to our world.

This is in parallel to the idea of the Big Bang. Before it all happened there was "nothingness" , or a whole lot of "something" that had no mass and no space. A mathematical point that Penrose and Hawking (and others too) theorized, which is also thought to exist in Black Holes. The exact mathematical and physical picture are not important to the layman, and they are not relevant to the biggest unanswered question, which is "Why?"

I grab what I can understand. I understand, and therefore accept, the principle of the black holes. I am convinced of the truth in my own understanding of Time and Space. Indeed, yesterday I had another intuition, based on recent experimental (scientific) discoveries (on biological 'clocks'). As to the 'Why,' more data are needed. Patience, Mike, we have not even reached the 21st...

The important issue that none of the theorists can give an answer to, is "Who gave the order, and Why?" Was it too dull before the BB? Or simply, it was the old guy we call God, and for a very specific reason?

The BB is the next BEGINNING, after the last END. It is a cosmic Simchat Torah. {The celebration of the yearly ending and immediate beginning of the weekly chapter of the Torah reading.}

There is an obvious parallel to this question in Man's thinking process. No matter how many coprots or other molecules you will find, as Chalmers says, a simple mechanistic view doesn't explain consciousness. There's got to be something else.

In many realms there is a 'critical' point --mass, velocity, limit-- that change the previous reality in an astounding manner. Because something new EMERGES. And so it happened that a 'critical neuron' initialed the unique brain of H. sapiens. It supplied the signal for the emergence of a 'critical super-protein,' the initiator of consciousness, an electromagnetic phenomenon of such complexity as to make it quite incomprehensible at the moment.
As many Resultant proteins were inevitably derived from the Emergent one, the more intelligent and conscious man became. Then other new --Emergent , i.e., higher-level-- super-proteins developed, most probably up to three --or, at most, four-- levels of complexity.
This is not a simple mechanistic concept, Mike.

The "beauty" of this "something else" in both cosmology and the functions of the brain and consciousness, is that this "addition" does not negate our scientific observations and understanding. It just complements it. Your scientific approach, is not "scientific" enough because, even though you cannot disprove the existence of the "Extra", you are postulating a priori that it doesn't exist. Obviously, you are not the only one in this camp.

I do not see the need for an 'Extra.'

Let us now discuss the levels of Super-coprots and of Super-feprots.
There are in mathematics intrinsic 'truths' that set given limits and patterns. The concept of Natural Limits is so basic, that the lack of its knowledge has impeded the elaboration of a THEORY OF FREE WILL, which I might expose in the future. For now, let us delve on some axioms that must be kept in mind to understand the world.

In the beggining, first a Point was created. Then a straight Line. A second one was added, there being now two lines connected at an angle. Then a third line, and --suddeny-- an EMERGENT was created: the Triangle, the first planar structure!
We now add other lines. What do we get? First a quadrangle, then polygons, ending in a circle: we have RESULTANTS.
Now, if the fourth line is added to the triangle at a different angle --in space-- a new Emergent makes it appearance: a Tri-dimensional figure.

Thus there exist 'magic' numbers: the triangle is 3, the first spatial figure is 4. 3 is the Trinity of Isis, Osiris, Horus, and also of Jehovah, Torah, Israel. Again, 3 and even 4, are the number of verb letters in Hebrew. And, Nature found that 3 basic units of the DNA helix make the code for the aminoacids, the fundaments of life.

By dint of such "Geometrics Limiting Principle," the levels of Super-proteins in the existing species called Homo sapiens are at most 4. And the mystical 'spheres' ought to be essentially no more than that number. The 10 'sfirot' of the Kabala are most probably made by the creation of expedient subdivisions.
Did you read my essay "On AXIOLOGY"? If Ethics were included in Morals, only 4 criteria would exist. This should not be done, because the clear understanding of the separateness of Ethics is a requisite for correct value judgments.
