Please, no duplicating, copying, or distribution without my consent. -------------------------------------------------------------- A rose is just a flower Sometimes deadly, or unique Whose petals curve up, lush and soft Striving to reach the highest peak A rose is more that just sight It smells so dreamy, too That wonderful, powerful scent Is a secret gift from me to you A rose is just a plant With nothing special to hold it high Just a small green stem shooting up from the ground And thorns scattered along the sides A rose holds a special meaning One that says ‘I love you’ But when I see that small meek flower I only see death, destruction, and blue A rose’s flower is usually red So soft and toneless to me Yet one should not always trust their sight For their are thorns, and spiky leaves A rose is just a flower Sweet smelling like a dream A dream that turns into a dreadful one For things just aren’t what they seem
