I have read many mysteries novels in the past two years to get an idea of whom I like and don't like. Ellery Queen (Ellery and his father, Richard) and Agatha Christie's Hercules Poirot mysteries are my favorites. Very well and intelligently written sto ies, fast moving and educational. Learning a lot of French from Poirot. I also watch Poirot on A & E every Monday night.. I usually go to library booksales and paperback book exchanges to buy my books. Cheaper that way. I have read everything she has written except the last two novels when she killed Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot. I want them to live forever. I love Agatha Christie's works. My first experience with her writings was when our local community theatre was presenting "The Mousetrap." My brother and I sleuthed our way through the first half and at intermission made my dad cough up a dollar apiece because we'd guessed (correctly) who-dun-it! What fun! Anyway, I was hooked, and later that year when we visited England I bought tons and to s of Agatha Christie paperbacks to read in the trains and subways. I just finished a compilation of five Miss Marple novels in one book--"The Mirror Crack'd," "A Carribean Mystery," "Nemesis," "What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw!," and also "The Body in the Libr ry." I liked em all, with "Nemesis" probably being my favorite.
