Here are links to some of my favorite (mostly funny, but some serious) places. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

This is NOT a smoke free page! In fact, smoking is encouraged! So sit back, relax, light up, and as our army drill instructors used to say: "smoke 'em if you got ''em!" And if militant anti-smoking visitors to this page don't like it, they can kiss my ass!

This is a funny web site! One wonders not at the subject matter alone, but that someone would put in so much time on the subject. Does the phrase "get a life" apply here? Anyway, have fun exploring it.

At the other end of the spectrum (so to speak), we have this web site:

Each day, Monday through Thursday, with an expanded edition on weekends, USA Today publishes a list of web sites they consider "hot". Some items on this list are interesting, some valuable, some garbage. It's worth looking at though. Also, they have an archive, so you can look at past picks.

This is the official web site of the House of Windsor. It has a history of the monarchy, some interesting pictures including some of the crown jewels.

The following link will take you to a file which consists of insults in the ".wav" format. They are mostly sound bites taken from movies, TV programs, etc. They are extremely funny. Warning!! Due to the language content, this site is NOT for children, or those with sensitive ears.

One of my favorite magazines. If you've never read it before, it's a kind of "GQ" for smokers. The site itself has some interesting features including a "personal humidor" where you can store information on your cigar tasting experiences. It even has bulletin boards where you can talk about what else? Cigars!

Here's a link to my favorite brand of cigar.

Here's a cigar brand (and web site) with an unusual name!

One of my favorite cartoons. My three year old grandson Daniel thinks I look like the "hero" of this strip!

Here's another favorite comic strip.

The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) is not only the most awesome ship in the US Fleet, it's one of the most awesome structures ever built by man. Our daughter Renee was, while in the Navy, stationed aboard the Lincoln. A couple of years ago, Judy and I had the privilege of taking a day long "Dependents Day" cruise aboard the Lincoln. We sailed out from Alameda NAS through San Francisco Bay, under the Golden Gate Bridge, out into the Pacific. It was one of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime. If you click on the icon below you can take a virtual tour of the Lincoln, and find out all sorts of interesting facts about this fantastic ship.

We have two breathtaking photos of the ship. To view them, click on the bars below.

For what it's worth, David Letterman is a fellow alumnus of Ball State University (otherwise known as Testicle Tech). Actually I don't care much for his program except for his "Top Ten" lists. Some of them are priceless. Below is a link to an archive of all his lists for 1997. Enjoy!

Cheers has always been one of my favorite TV programs. Since it has been in syndication, we can almost always find it here. In case it's not available however, this web site helps me get my "fix".

The London Times is one of my favorite newspapers. It's reporting is very accurate, although the paper is a bit "stodgy" for American tastes. It's now available on line. You'll have to register for it, but the process is worth it.

Whilst surfing one day, I ran across a web site for my old high school! Looks like things have changed a bit, but what hasn't in 38 years? Anyway, while the strains of Pomp and Circumstance are going through your head, how about exploring it with me? Recently, the school added an "alumni" section. My year (1959) was blank. So I submitted my info and have recently been added along with an old friend of mine (Byron Krause) who I ran into on the internet after almost 40 years. So if you go to that page, click on the year 1959, you can see what I looked like as a high school senior. Actually, it's quite remarkable, because I still look much the same. And if you believe that..........

Perhaps your high school has a web site that you don't know about. If you click on the logo below, you can search and find out.

I was Commander of what was then Area D-II (Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee) of the Arnold Air Society.

For some biographical information on General "Hap" Arnold, click on his insignia below.

Tell the truth now - haven't you always wanted to become an ordained minister? I know I have! I've read about this church for years in newspapers you'll find near the checkout stands at the grocery store. Well, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, you can be ordained on-line!! They'll even come up with an ordination certificate that you can print out. So I figured, what the hell......oops!!

Now why don't all you miserable sinners repent and join

The Reverend Ron

Everybody say Amen!!

A collection plate will be passed. (no coins please).

Cheerfully accepted (with proper ID of course)..

I believe that earlier I mentioned something about getting a life. Well, if there's anything sillier than the fart site it's this one. The other possibility of course is that I'm missing something. Check it out and see what you think.

Most people know that the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides) is still a commissioned ship. But did you know they have their own web site? If you have any interest in the Navy, or US history, this is a fascinating site. Click on the seal below to visit the site.

There's nothing I like better than a good cup of coffee! I first got interested in good coffee while in Italy where I drank gallons of espresso. Yes, Ed, it's better than beer! Here are some links to my favorite coffee places.

When Judy was on one of her trips to Hawaii, she brought me back some Kona coffee. I got hooked! It's some of the best coffee in the world, and it's all grown and packaged in the good old USA!

Of course there's always good old Starbucks. They're really expanding, and there's probably one in your area. There are even a couple in Phoenix! They don't seem to have their own web site (at least I couldn't find one), but this site bills itself as "The official unofficial Starbucks site".

Here's an on-line magazine about coffee.

Let's see. We've got a good cigar, a great cup of coffee, so there's only one thing left: a superb book to go along with them. My favorite author is David Eddings. He's a writer of great science fiction/fantasy. Below are a number of his book covers. Each is linked to a different site about his work.

All the above books plus more (I think Eddings has written 19 in all) are available in most large bookstores. Due to the high cost of even paperback books today, I found most of mine in used bookstores, although due to the popularity of Eddings, they're hard to find there. Of course there's always the Public Library.

ATTENTION!!

Another David Eddings book has recently (1 November, 1997) been published. To find out about it, click the bar below.

There's one other thing I did forget. How about a roaring fireplace?

Ron Springer

And to answer the question I get asked almost every day, we are no relation to this man:

Would you like one of our awards? As long as your site is "child friendly", there shouldn't be a problem. Click on the bar below for more information.

Building a web site is lots of fun believe it or not. I never thought I could do it, but it's not nearly as difficult as you might think. There are lots of different places where you can build a web site for free, but GeoCities is probably the best of these. Click on the icon above to get started. If there is a way I can help, send me an E-mail, and I'll try to be of what help I can. Good luck!

Believe it or not, there's more!
