"Fates Entwined Are Not Denied"
From My Heart
Forever has different meanings to different people...for me it means
through lifetimes far beyond this one. It means second chances, and
third chances and more. Once we are linked with another person,
our fates are entwined.
Fates Entwined
I know this is but a moment
In this lifetime and not meant to last,
That the warmth and feeling
You have brought will
Soon be but days in the past,
Memories may fade with time
And talks no longer be,
I know that you’ll be on your way
But where you go there also goes
An enduring part of me.
I lend you fragments of my soul
For safe keeping throughout time
Knowing that when forever comes
You’ll pass again my way
And I will gather what is mine
And you’ll be here to stay
For lifetimes far beyond this one.
A moment sets the stage,
Souls are locked and hearts are tied
And fates entwined are not denied.
When Last...
When I last saw you
The world was frozen
Crystal flakes drifted and
Danced in the moonlight
Created a pure blanket
That muffled the sounds
Of the city.
I stood in the doorway
Watching you go
Then return to touch my cheek
One more time, one soft touch
Catching one escaping tear
Our eyes met, held,
I loved you so
And the night was too beautiful
Too pure to let you go.
But our time was past,
I thought, and somehow
I knew we’d meet again
That neither time nor distance
Could separate our souls.
I knew we were one
And now I wait for you,
Living a life still incomplete.
I believe the circle will close,
Must close, in this life or the next.
Spring will come at last.
Hope
We thought the battle was won,
Pain could be put aside,
The future was safe,
Our tears could be dried.
But the fight rages on
With no end in sight,
And strength is waning
At the approaching night.
We try to say our goodbyes
While holding on to each day,
Living for the moment,
While our time slips away.
Whose grief is the greater
Is impossible to say,
The who must go or
The one who must stay.
I offer you my hand and
My heart goes with you
And the memories we make
Must see me through.
Farewell just for the moment,
For when time flashes by
Fate will bring us together
Forever, you and I.
A Moment
A moment,
Give me a moment of your time,
Touch my life with your laughter,
Warm my spirit with your fire.
I would ask for more
But know it can not be,
So will be grateful for each
Second that we pass together,
And treasure it and shelter
The flame of memory until
The day when it can be
Rekindled and kept alive
And growing for eternity.
With Reluctance
With reluctance I let you go
Even for a moment,
When all I really want is
To keep you near forever
To have you by my side
In my heart, in my arms
Endlessly.
Then while you are gone,
I plan and hope and wait,
Storing up all I want to say,
Wondering
If I will get the chance
To look into your eyes
And see reflected back
The same kind of love
That I hold for you,
If we will be connected
In a way that makes absence
Only a physical reality,
If we will be soul-locked,
For then I
Will
Have you by my side,
In my heart, in my arms
Endlessly.
Before You Go
Before you go,
Touch my face softly
And call me angel once more,
Hold my hand by your heart,
So its beat warms my blood,
While I look in your eyes
Sharing moments of love,
Talk to me of dreams
For all our tomorrows,
Then let me gather strength
From your courage,
And hope from your faith,
And let me find patience to wait
Until the promise comes true.
Etchings
Etched in my mind,
Tucked away with the treasures
Of my memories
Is that first time I saw you,
When I looked into your eyes
And knew it was right,
Knew that the moment
Was more than worth the risk
My arms ached to hold you,
My hands to softly touch,
And I shook with the effort
Of restraint,
Wanting to clasp you to me,
Stroke your face gently
And draw you to my shelter.
Now I have those moments,
The sight of you, the feel of you,
Filling my senses and my mind,
An ember burning steadily,
Warming my heart,
Strengthening my soul,
Until our time comes again.
Dreaming
You looked into my eyes and reached my soul,
You touched my hand and led the way
And I learned about friendship,
You touched my heart
And I learned about love,
You touched my imagination
And I remembered how to dream.
I began to hope for the future
And to know that, against all odds,
Some dreams do come true -
All we have to do is have the dream
And look for ways to make it work.
You gave me all you had to give
For as long as you were able
And I found the meaning of forever.
We lived a lifetime in a moment;
Now we wait through time
And I will keep the memories alive
Til the circle closes and we are joined
For eternity.
