We have a NEED
Sibu is desperately short of materials (videos, tapes, books etc) for families with special needs children to draw from in order to assist them in finding or exploring ways to train their children with learning difficulties. (Special needs children include Down Syndrome & autistic children etc.)
Often these materials are very expensive, and thus not affordabe to many families. Many are imported from overseas.
We have a NEED - we need materials to help those families faced with the challenging tasks of bringing up their special needs children, and trying their best to integrate them into normal community life. (A lot of families are still currently 'hiding' their special needs children)
How we plan to address that NEED
Wesley Methodist Church's Social Concerns Committee has started a PARENT SUPPORT GROUP, and one of its project this year is to build up a resources library whereby parents/caregivers of special needs children can borrow such materials on an F.O.C basis (i.e. no charge).
All needy families will be served, regardless of race or religion.
And we plan to raise funds to make such purchases through the collection of USED STAMPS & PHONECARDS for sale to stamp dealers & through auctions etc.
How you can HELP us in our "STAMPS for CHARITY" drive.
You can help us by sending us your "used stamps and phonecards" --- those "common, ordinary ones" that you normally throw away (we can put them to good use, and help to bless someone on your behalf. Just mail them to:
