- Thomas Muntzer arrived in Leipzig to study at the University of Leipzig.

- George Blaurock arrived in Leipzig to study at the University of Leipzig. Academic life did not suit him, however. Within 3 years George was working as a priest in Trins, Switzerland.

- 20 May 1527
- Hans Hergot, a printer and book peddler from Nuremberg, was executed. He had written a book entitled Concerning the New Changes in Christian Life which proposed a restructuring of society along more biblical and egalitarian lines. He had also been Thomas Muntzer's printer in Nuremberg.
