Hippolytus (Bolt) Eberli was burned at the stake in his home town of Lachen, 12 miles north-west of Schwyz. He became known as the first Swiss Brethren (Anabaptist) martyr. [Moore, Portraits, p.38; Williams, Radical, p.224]
