- Some of the city's Jews were executed in a blood libel, the rest were expelled. After a while they were allowed to return upon payment of a large sum of money, and agreeing to cancel all debts owed them.

- George Blaurock was in Bern to attend a public disputation on Anabaptism.

- 7-26 January 1528
- George Blaurock attended a 3-week disputation in Bern, at which it was officially decided that the city would become Protestant. But Blaurock & 7 Anabaptist colleagues were thrown in prison for their activities. His exact whereabouts afterwards are unknown.

- Giovanni Gentile was beheaded for heresy. He was
charged with: (a) 7 errors concerning the Trinity; (b) making false accusations against church leaders; and (c) practicing deception to avoid punishment. As he approached the chopping block he denounced the clergy as Sabellians and declared that he was dying as a martyr in the name of the one true God.
