What God Can Do For You I. Introduction. A. Worldly attitude: What can you do for me? B. Business attitude: What can we do for you(involves money).? C. Service attitude: What can I do to help you? D. Searching attitude: Where can I find someone to do for me? E. Selfish attitude: What have you done for me lately? F. God's attitude: Can do for you what you need. II. Body. A. What God did for the Hebrews: Deuteronomy 4:32-40. 1. Took them from Egypt--gave a promised land. a. Had not cleared the land--had not worked it. b. God handed it to them on a "platter." c. Provided them with everything to have a great nation: Leaders, Judges, priests, etc. 2. Gave them a king when they were unhappy with judges. 3. Performed miracles; delivered them from enemies. 4. Cared for them, as a loving father. 5. Provided a law promoting righteousness. B. What God did for the Gentiles: Acts 10:34-43. 1. Opened salvation to those who were despised. 2. Equal footing before God with the Hebrews. 3. Paul said it: Galatians 3:11. 4. Note: Romans 3:29. 5. Paul was a prisoner for them: Ephesians 3:1. 6. Jehovah sent His own Son to die on the cross: Romans 5:8. C. What God can do for each of us. 1. Already done so much. a. Created us in His own image. b. Loved us as His creation(set over all others). c. Sent His Son--established His church--prepared a place. 2. God offers you His spiritual blessings. a. Through Christ: Ephesians 1:3. b. Not only by being in Christ: but--staying in Christ. c. Without Jehovah's help--we would have no spiritual blessings. d. Should provoke to: Romans 12:1. 3. God can protect, guide and care for you. a. The providence of God needs to be remembered by each. b. Think of His care for Paul and the apostles. c. Will all be rosy and pleasant? d. Note: I Peter 5:7. 4. God can bring you into a new day, refreshed and ready to claim his blessings.. a. Breath and life come from Him. b. There is something special about a new day. c. Problems do not seem as great, past is gone. d. Jesus said: Matthew 6:34(look at it as an opportunity) e. But remember: James 4:15. 5. God can erase the sins you commit. a. Upon repentance: Acts 8:22. b. The blood of Christ still applies. c. Prayer is the avenue. (1 For forgiveness, for strength, for help. (2 Note: James 5:16. d. Praying helps to prepare for temptations and avoiding sins. e. Early Christians learned how valuable this opportunity. 6. God can prepare you to live in eternity. a. Outlines the conditions. b. Encourages to prepare. c. Hence: I Peter 1:3-5. III. Conclusion. A. We know what God can do for us--what will we do to claim all of His mercies and blessings? B. Do not fail to accept what God can do for you.-jy
